Castle

Sights & Landmarks

Castell de Dénia is a picturesque castle by the water, dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. It offers a glimpse into history with artifacts on display, showcasing its Greek, Roman, Moorish, and Spanish influences. The climb to the top rewards visitors with stunning views of Denia and the mountains. While exploring the castle's ruins, visitors can also enjoy a café at the top.

Visited on a wild and windy day.Still made so welcome. Very low cost to enter. Amazing. Fascinating history, spectacular views. Basic but good snack bar and facilities near top of castle. A very enjoyable visit.

Paul T — Google review

One of those "must do" trips if you're in the area. Actually a really nice opportunity for a walk with the family. Fantastic views from the top. Lovely little coffee shop at the top also serving alcohol so we stopped for beer and cake. Saw a beautiful red squirrel in the grounds also.

Pammy C — Google review

For 3 euros it's a must as the Denia views are great. Not a huge amount to see but worth the walk.

richmouland — Google review

On a bright day this is an affordable and scenic hike up and down a rather old and well preserved castle in the heart of Denia. Come prepared to climb and pause the climb, especially with elders. Refreshments can be found at the cafe on top. Stunning views with ample space for photos. Laid back vibes and not overly-crowded. A space equal parts history and imagination.

Justin R — Google review

Loved this high hill castle in the heart of Denia’s old town. We visited early on a Monday morning, but even then it was clearly popular with locals and tourists. There was lots to look at in the castle buildings themselves, but I must admit the views of the town from this high vantage point took most of my attention.Excellent for just walking around and exploring, as well as getting to know the surrounding area.

Graeme K — Google review

Awesome view of the city and surrounding area. The castle itself is but a ruin, but the restoration of the battlements really shows how impressive the castle was.Cheap and enjoyable experience, highly reccomendable.

Nicolai N — Google review

Ruins of Castle of Denia are definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. There's not a lot remaining but you do get a super view of the surrounding area and it's very cheap at 2euros per old person, and dogs are allowed.

David M — Google review

Amazing view from the top, the castle/fortress is beautiful. I find one spot that very interesting for me, there was an entrance and the stone floor has a very flat and slippery surface. Interesting and beautiful, please becareful when you walk on it. There is also cafetariaand toilet on top, And I love how the cats are taken care of in this area. They provide food and drink for the cats. It was a nice visit there.

Katy H — Google review

I enjoyed a lot the visit there. It was in the 15th of August and it was crazy hot and humid, but anyways a great visit. It took us about two hours of slow walking to go around the whole place.

El M — Google review

Lovely stroll around the castle. Stunning views of the marina, beach and town, as you walk on up to the top of the castle.

SHARON B — Google review

Absolutely gorgeous! Can't say anymore. The views are spectacular! The castle and ruins are so lovely and interestings! Little museums inside too. Loads of cats around! 🥰🤭

British S — Google review

For only 5 euros the Castle and its views are a must when visiting Denia. It’s a steep climb to the top but worth the views

Catherine H — Google review

There is a huge amount of history to learn about by visiting this castle, from the Greeks to the Romans, Moors, Spanish wars and more. It's well worth a visit if you are in Dénia, but decent shoes are recommended or at least good sandals as parts of the steep paths are uneven and in several places slippery. There are great views from the top of the castle, a good reason to visit if nothing else. From the top you can see right over Dénia and the mountains.Entry was only €2 each (seniors) which included a guided tour.

Tony P — Google review

An impressive old castle with a lot of history. Splendid views over Dénia and the surrounding mountains and landscapes.

Lord P — Google review

lovely place to visit only 3 euros and fantastic views

Cathy H — Google review

Beautiful views, lovely walk and reasonably priced to get in.

Andrea A — Google review

The castle itself is nothing really special, but the views of the city are fantastic. We took our dog with us and had no problem whatsoever. The walk up to the castle through the narrow streets is beautiful with many picture opportunities. It's well worth a visit.

Park

Aquariums

Mundomar is a multi-animal park located in Benidorm, Spain. It offers visitors the chance to get up close and personal with dolphins, sea lions, parrots and other exotic creatures. Many of the shows are performed by the animals themselves, including dancing dolphins and pirates. There's also an area where children can become keepers for a day.

What a day! We went for the VIP ticket and there was only 2 of us on the tour! We learnt so much from Victor our guide and how the animals are cared for. The park is amazing and what they are doing for conservation is outstanding. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. The icing on the cake was getting to touch the Dolphins and to go into the lemur enclosure and have them sit on your shoulder. AMAZING! So worth the price and the park has amazing views. We will be back for sure!

Carl — Google review

I came here 18 years ago, I have photos of me with seals and dolphins so I took my family here in 2022. They enjoyed it, we watched the seal/sea lion show and the dolphins. Enjoyed it all even if most of it was in Spanish. Well worth a visit especially their top dolphin breeding program.

Cameron A — Google review

Incredible experience, travelled to Benidorm from the UK and booked Mundomar and Aqualandia as a duo booking for just €39.The dolphin and sea lion shows are amazing! The park is spotless clean and you can tell the animals are well taken care of. There are plenty of toilets and places to get food and drink dotted around the park.Would highly recommend a visit if you're in Benidorm :)

Beth — Google review

Was really nice time to spend a few hours here I really enjoyed the environment etc, staff was really nice helping us with directions and where to buy to tickets, The shows being free was really good in my opinion and the meeting dolphins was really cool the animals are so looked after and the shows were amazing 10/10 for the staff performance hope to go again when we come back again some day:)

Kacey H — Google review

What a lovely place to visit ,,we saw the dolphin show which was brilliant .All the animals look healthy and well looked after .A little bit hilly upto the top of the park ,but not too bad.Only negative was the cheese burger ,which was tasteless and bland .still tasting it hours after consuming it ,so suppose you get your moneys worth.Overall excellent day out and good price if you go to round the town travel .

Todo en general geniallll.(Translated by Google)We have spent the day and it is the second time we go, the first time was 7 years ago with my oldest son and today we took the little one, I loved it when we went, but today I appreciated many details, such as the caregivers and trainers Of the dolphins, you can see at a glance that they like their jobs and they take care of the animals with great affection and love. It is a pleasure to see how they work with them. The facilities are very clean and the animal enclosures too, the animals look very clean and well cared for.The bathrooms are very clean.Super cool shows. And being able to take photos with the animals is undoubtedly a unique experience because it is worth taking home a nice souvenir.Everything in general is great.

Elena G — Google review

We loved it so much!!! It feels animals are well cared for and have sufficient space. And the guides are outstanding, we had Victor to walk us through the park, and he was brilliant sharing all interesting facts about each animal. Meeting Black and white Madagascar lemurs and feeding birds was experience to treasure for long! Thank you Victor, you made our visit to MundoMar a very special one:)

Joanna N — Google review

What an amazing place, we booked the V.I.P package for €59 each and was not disappointed when we arrived we were all given our own Mundomar bag and t-shirt and introduced to our tour guide we had Carla who did an amazing job showing us around and teaching us about the animals. Also included in the V.I.P package was meet and greet with the Sea lions, Dolphins and Birds, but much more than we had photos with the giant tortoises, fed the Lorikeets and Lemurs which was amazing. The tour also provides free drinks and food so well worth the money. The views overlooking Benidorm from outside the restaurant are breathtaking. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are all very friendly. This is must do day whenever you visit Benidorm we loved it.

Andy W — Google review

It's a great experience and the dolphin show is amazing. I would recommend not taking pictures with lemurs or any other animal, as it will cost you 8€ and you will get a very poor-quality picture. This is because the staff doesn't take more than 2 seconds to take a picture. It's rushed and very obvious that it's just a way to make money off the tourists.

Tina P — Google review

We loved the sealion and dolphin shows. The sea lions come right up close to you and you can have pics taken and if you like buy them at the end. A small play area for little ones to play. Beautiful views from the top and a gift shop. We stayed 3hrs and that was enough to see it all. Overall my kids loved it.

Saeeda K — Google review

Mundomar is a great place to visit as adults or with children. There is lots to see and some amazing shows. We were there on a weekday and there was a lot of school children there in large groups. Made it difficult to get around but it was great still. I always recommend buying tickets in advance online as they are always cheaper than on the day. Website is available in different languages.

The D — Google review

Amazing Day Out. We went for the VIP experience with guide Vincent and was fantastic. We managed to learn so much about the animals, have unique experiences within the cages and have photos alongside dolphins, sea lions and parrots. They even provided a drink and some sweet and savoury snacks. Plus stayed in the park 30 minutes after closing. They really do care about the animals and is well worth the price.

Peter B — Google review

Fantastic experience for young to old. The VIP experience is well worth it, including a free t-shirt and bag. The photographs and hands-on moments with the dolphins, sea lions, birds and black and white lemurs will be something to remember for life.

Scott M — Google review

An amazing place to visit for the day , plenty to see and walk around. The shows have Spanish, then English speech so if you are here on holiday , you'll know what's going on . Staff are so friendly and understanding (my daughter is autistic and broke a bone in her foot just before we came out so is in a boot and a crutch) 100% recommended booking online , you can do same day booking !

Trudy M — Google review

My husband and i had a very good time here! It was a really nice stroll and we got the chance to admire a few species of birds and mammals. There was also a dolphins show which we enjoyed in particular. We bought the tickets form the ticket booth but they would have been 20 euros cheaper had we purchased them online. However, we received coupons with a discount for Aqualandia, which was nice.We got there by car but visitors can reach Mundomar by taxi or bus as well, so this is an easily accessible location. We were able to admire fish, apes, parrots, penguins, seals, flamingos, dolphins, ducks, lemurs and a few other species i can’t remember right now. Also, the view from the top is fantastic!I recommend this place to families with children, couples and groups of friends. This is an activity that people all ages can enjoy. And i would also recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as they are much cheaper that the ones purchased from the booth.

Amazing place to visit we went on a Saturday and wasn’t disappointed. We payed extra for the vip experience which is definitely worth the extra money. The tour guide I think her name was cristina was amazing and very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. The animals are very well looked after and put on an incredible show. My youngest daughter was amazed by the dolphins and had her picture took with them which was included in the price. Will definitely be revisiting this attraction when we go again.

Phil B — Google review

We tried sea lion interaction activity. My kids, 8 and 13, loved it. The trainers did a great job and sea lions were very clever and cooperative. We also got lovely pics at the end. Thank you!

Arezou S — Google review

In Mondomar you have Delphine, sea lions and parrot shows which are really well done and entertaining. Kids love it.There are different animals and birds and great areas for kids to play. The entrance price is 23€ per person. Can't remember the kids price ticket

Absolutely amazing sea lion (& seal!) experience. This park is closed out of season but still open for experiences Wednesday-Sunday. My daughter said it was the best day of her life - I think that says it all!

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit on 13/05/24. Went on a tour and was able to get up close to dolphins, sealions, parrots and lemurs. Christina, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative.

Rachel P — Google review

Good place for the kids, 3 shows that was close enough in time that you did not feel like you were waiting for to long between them! The children was really enjoying the park. The only downside was that the park it self was a bit small

Shows are perfect!! Seal and dolphins are fantastic. Zoo is on 20 minutes, when you didnt go to shows, but you must go on it!! Entry is 31 Euro on 1 person. This prise is little bit high, but not horrible :)) Enjoy it!

Beach

Outdoor Activities

Levante beach is a public beach located in the heart of Benidorm. It has wide sands, plenty of sun loungers and facilities such as showers and volleyball nets. It's one of the busiest beaches in Benidorm, especially during the summer months.

Absolutely beautiful beach to visit on your holiday to Benidorm. There are always activities going on during the summer time that anyone is able to take part in. There is also plenty of space if you would prefer a more quiet and relaxed area. The beach is filled with beautiful views and I was very surprise with how clean the beach was. There was no rubbish at all on the beach when we went to visit. There is food and drink always near by. All the pubs and bars seem to be family friendly along the beach so I believe it would be a nice location for families too.We often found ourselves walking along the beach front in the afternoon to watch the sunset. It is very beautiful during this time. At night the strip is light up and so are the bars, but there is no lights on the beach and the sea are becomes extremely dark so be careful with any children.

Rebecca U — Google review

Great beach, spotless clean, crystal waters but can get a little busy.

Conner R — Google review

One of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. The beach is kept clean and has lifeguards during the summer season and warning flags all year round. Plenty of shops and bars on the excellent promenade which runs the length of the beach. There is also a regular police presence and very few problems. The only downside is it is extremely popular and thus gets very busy at peak times. Loungers and umbrellas are available to hire and certain areas are kept free of these for those who just want to lie on the sand or dig sandcastles.

David B — Google review

Levante Beach is a standout in Benidorm with its lovely sandy shores. We hired beach chairs for £6 per day, which was a great deal, and spent several delightful days here. The kids absolutely adored it, making it a perfect spot for families. Our beach days were complemented with refreshing drinks at Heartbreak Rock Bar and 7 Seas Pub, and delicious ice cream from Pinocchio Playa. The staff at these places were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. If you're in Benidorm, I highly recommend Levante Beach for a day (or more) of sun and fun, and don't forget to visit these fantastic nearby spots for great service and treats.

Aquarium

Nature & Parks

The Oceanographic aquarium in Valencia is the largest of its kind in Europe and contains nearly 500 different species of marine life. The building owes its impressive concrete roofing to the architect Felix Candela, who designed it as a magical space of water and wildlife. Visitors are able to explore different sections of the aquarium over the course of four hours, and it is definitely worth reserving time in your itinerary in Valencia to visit!

This is one of the best attractions in Valencia. Some people in their reviews say you will be done in an hour and a half but we spend over 2 hours and we enjoyed every minute. We spend so much time watching each of the animals, they were all so amazing to see. The dolphin show is around 10 am or 11 so get there early as the seats fill up fast. Some of the best parts were the sea lions, the flamingos, and the most unique part was the tunnel where you walk underneath stingrays, manta rays, sharks, jellyfish. You can see their features up close it's amazing.

Aisling M — Google review

Amazing. A must see even if you don't have children. We had an absolute ball here. The day was a long one so be prepared to eat on site to make sure you get to see every attraction. Very worth the price and long day. The children and the grandparents loved it.

Casey J — Google review

We have purchased tickets in advance, but can be purchased at spot. Plenty of parking, daily rate was 7 euro, with additional ticket taken in shops. A lot of connecting buildings, map can be taken at info point. Kids loved it, plenty to see and experience. We stayed about 6 hours and were able to see everything (about 8k steps :))

Brankica S — Google review

I visited L'Oceanogràfic on a rainy day in Valencia, and it turned out to be the perfect indoor activity. The aquarium is massive and incredibly well-maintained. The sea life creatures appear happy and healthy, making it a truly enjoyable experience. It was a fantastic decision for a rainy day outing. The location is awesome, the parking is quite convenient.I’d recommend to book the tickets in advance. This place can get quite busy on weekends and holidays.

Bharat B — Google review

I think it is a bit expensive for what you can see in the aquarium. Some animals, like the penguins were kept in a very small space and the dolphin show was a bit uncomfortable to watch, there are like 18 of them in a pool that is not big enough for them to swim and more so being so many of them being kept there...I liked the layout, that you can be outside from one part of the Aquarium to another, but for that money I was expecting the animals to be in bigger and better places, sort of like the aquarium in Lisbon. Also most of the vending machines were broken and it was very difficult to get a drink. But overall it was good, especially the tunnel where you could enjoy seeing a great variety of sea life swimming around!

Memi G — Google review

So much more than an aquarium. We spent hours there and didn't get to see it all. The kids had a great time hoping from one creature exhibit to the next. The animals all seem to be top priority and well cared for. So many different animals to see and very up close.Tye dolphin show was a clear favourite. Lots of fun and amazing tricks. Make sure you arrive early because there is limited seating.

Stephanie C — Google review

The place in total was really cool, and we had great experiences there. They had everything from tropical fish, to birds to penguins! They also had a dolphin show, which happens every few hours, and that was white cool also, and they also translated everything. Which was good. It does take a long time to visit everything, and I would say you need at least 5 hours to visit everything. The tickets were quite expensive, as for everything, we ended up paying 170€ for 4 adults and 1 child. The food there was also very good, however it was slightly expensive too. Overall, the place was really cool, and I would recommend. But beware, we went here even when it wasn't the crowded season, and it was still pretty full, so you might want to buy tickets earlier, depending on what time of year you want to go.

Quantum P — Google review

One of the best aquariums that exist in the world. I’ve been in multiple aquariums in North America, Asia, and Europe. This is simply one of the bests. It achieves a good combination of fishes from different seas and climates, as well as marine mammals, birds and lizards. A trip around the globe of multiple ecosystems in a single place. The facilities are clean, and well maintained.I was a bit hesitant about dolphins in captivity, but they seem to be treated very well and responsibly. Staff is nice and passionate about working with all this marine life. It was great to see.Last but not least, there are good food options, from casual restaurant, to a hot dog hut with multiple options. At 40 Euros, It’s on the expensive side, considering Valencia prices, but the trip was totally worth it. Good for adults, kids, and families. I was traveling solo, and no regrets.

Miguel A — Google review

A magnificent aquarium. You can spend almost a full day in it. An aquarium that hosts animals that you may not see in your life. It is very pleasant to walk in. Every detail is very well thought out. You can also coincide with events inside. There was an event with dolphins. Although I was against the use of animals in these events for commercial reasons, it was a good event. I felt sorry for the small area reserved for penguins. I am saddened by the confinement of living things that were brought from their natural habitats to small spaces.

Agules ' — Google review

Boss day out. Kids love it here. Lots to do and seem food is good but expensive. Toilets everywhere which is always a plus with 4 little kids. Not like your usual aquarium can spend a good part of the day here and not go bored. Dolphin show is good. So are the shark area. Lots of good stuff and good staff. 4D show is also good abs with the extra for the shark one.

William B — Google review

Huge place that will require several hours for the best visit. Make sure to keep your kids well fed and happy to ensure that everyone will have a good time in yours and the others' groups. The exhibition will be crowded at times so have patience. The dolphin show is a must see. I watched it twice because, to be honest, it was a bit hard to follow. Young children around me thought the dolphin show was too much talk and too little action. When something cool actually happened they missed it because they didn't know where to look.I also weren't prepared when and where they would perform a trick.Penguins would have been so fun to see but the window on that exhibition was a bit dirty and had water droplets all over it making it a bit hard to see clearly. This diminished the possibilities of an amazing, once in a lifetime, experience. All in all, at first I thought it felt expensive but was actually very good value for money. If you visit Valencia and have the time and the money, go there.

Had a very nice experience with my family here. It was the main thing we enjoyed in Valencia. For anyone that is a lover of animals and oceanic life than I would recommend spending a couple hours here. We also got to witness the dolphin show where they taught us about the latest technology used in research and I found that really interesting.NOTE: We bought our tickets at the front office like a lot of other people. Definitely don’t need to book in advance unless you want to skip the line.

Amazing place. A must if you can - especially good for children. Sooo much to see. Be prepared for lots of walking both inside and out - place is enormous but very well designed and organised. Huge selection of rays and sharks. Beluga whales were the highlight for us and we feel privileged to have seen them.Highly recommended buying tickets online beforehand

Liz W — Google review

Recommending buying tickets in advance so you can skip the line. Need to know exact day and time of the visit to do so. There are some discounts if you buy combo tickets with other landmarks in the city. You can google it to see which ones. Also you need at least 4 hours to see all parts of the place, its really big. Dolphins show is worth it.

Such a great aquarium. I’ve visited many aquariums and this one is definitely top 5. So many different animals to see. I liked how they separated most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). They had very informative signs. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn’t feel overly crowded. We had a great time.

Widnelly C — Google review

Incredibly beautiful aquarium, I totally recommend going to it but have in mind that you need at least 4 hours to be able to see it all calmly. You can see the most "important" things in a quick tour in 2 hours but you won't be able to enjoy it properly. If you go in the morning when they open, you will have plenty of time to see the whole aquarium, eat inside (the food is mostly decent) and then go to the art museum and see everything calmly, without the stress of rushing through.I recommend taking an entire day to visit the aquarium and the art museum next to it, you can find good price packages for both tickets together.

Gregorio R — Google review

Amazing marine life centre, a must see. Amazing design and layout and plenty to see. Informative and instructional for adults and children. Good restaurant with table service and a reasonably priced food selection of food from the menu. The portions were very large as well. Highly recommended.

Chris N — Google review

I did not know what to expect, but this place is really special. The buildings and facilities are amazing. You really need to 3 to 4 hours to see all well. The Delphine show is good (included as part of ticket price), but not super amazing, however it’s great for kids to learn. The shark tunnel is fantastic!

Roberto C — Google review

A diverse range of aquatic life on exhibit. Displays with an environmental theme are located throughout and feature powerful statements about pollution & plastics. Food services were not plentiful on site, but there are many nearby. Entrance price was a bit steep, but comparable to similar attractions in major cities.

Barbara W — Google review

This is definitely 100 times better than bioparc. It's got a huge space almost like the Disneyland of aquariums. It's easy to spend 4-6 hours here except the food options are terrible here so some people suggested bringing your own food. The dolphin show also is very boring, maybe it's very humane and kind to the dolphins but there was 70 percent lecture on saving the dolphins and 30 percent show. Kids couldn't even sit through it, the Spanish audience were the best though, they were singing and dancing thru the music which was much more interesting than the disorganized dolphins. To compare, even a tiny aquarium in Hokkaido Japan had a better dolphin show. However they do have some really cool tanks. IThere was one underwater tunnel they had Atlantic fish which was not so pretty bit there was another tunnel with sharks and tortoises. It's very cool. The bird case was a cool structure but looks better from the outside than from the inside. The octopus is totally cool to look at. The whole area is pretty big but it's not too hard to walk it all. Not really sure I saw it all but the kids were too tired to keep going after 5 hours. Highly recommend the sharks, penguins, belugas, flamingos and the octopus. Very very fun place. Worth the entrance.

This place is a true gem, and here's why:The Oceanographic is incredibly well-maintained, showcasing an impeccable level of care for both the marine life and the visitors. The size of the facility is impressive, offering a vast and diverse array of exhibits to explore. It's like stepping into a world of aquatic diversity and beauty. One of the standout features of the Oceanographic is its cleanliness. Everywhere I looked, the facility gleamed with cleanliness, making the visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for both the animals and guests. The exhibit layout is both extensive and well-organized, with various buildings dedicated to different marine themes. Whether you're fascinated by sharks, mesmerized by dolphins, or curious about penguins, there's something here for everyone. The diverse range of exhibits ensures that you'll never run out of new and exciting things to see.The quality of the exhibits and the welfare of the marine life were top-notch. It's clear that the Oceanographic is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. From playful dolphins to majestic jellyfish, the experience is nothing short of magical.

Hands down the best aquarium I have ever been too - A great variety of spaces and stunning marine life, all in pristine facilities. We went there thinking it would be a couple of hours, but easily spent 4 - 5 enjoyable hours. Dolphins were definitely a highlight 🐬Would certainly recommend going if you get the chance. Plenty of choices for food if you get hungry too - Great place for a family trip out

Sam P — Google review

Fantastic place! We spent over 7 hours here, strolling around the outdoor exhibits, watching the dolphin show, and going through the many underground exhibits showcasing a wide variety of fish including sharks, rays and eels, as well as turtles, seals, beluga whales, and penguins. And so many birds - flamingos, ducks, ibis, swans, and spoonbills. Take your time! It's well worth the price of admission. This aquarium is well maintained and clean. Animals appear well taken care of. Staff are very friendly and most speak English. We went in January, with no lineups, but still recommend buying tickets online ahead of time. Got to go straight in! Be aware you can bring in water bottles to drink, but no food allowed. This is to make sure you don't feed the animals. Reasonable request considering the circ*mstances! This was definitely a highlight of our stay in Valencia. Highly recommend going for the day!

Ernie S — Google review

This aquarium is so pretty! There are a lot to see : beluga, turtles, pingouins, birds, crocodiles and more. You can easily spend half a day there and there are some restaurants/fast foods to treat yourself.I visited Oceanographic as an adult but I was as excited as a child. Would 100% recommend it, especially if you have kids.

There is a lot to see and the area is very spacious, which is why you should plan 3-4 hours. With online tickets you can get in straight away (the queue at the ticket counter looked very long).

Awesome. We loved it. The spaces are out of this world. I love how it puts a lot of focus on the environment. We booked the backstage tour that takes you inside and explain how the water filtration works. Our guide Nuria was very knowledgeable and replied all our questions. Also in case anyone needs it there are lockers, the size might fit a very small carry on, but otherwise I wouldn't take any luggage with you here.We also tried the 4D movie theater, it was very good. An amazing experience, I believe it was only 3 euros. It's a must see in Valencia.

Jamie M — Google review

Visiting here was a beautiful experience from start to finish. It wasn't the usual aquarium as there's also an aviary and a 4D cinema. The place is large and takes a few good hours to visit, especially since we stopped to read all the info plaques. They also have several restaurants placed in key locations, where you can enjoy various types of food and beverages. The star of the visit was the dolphin show. There are a few every day and you need to queue up in time as there's limited seating. The dolphins seemed happy and we're enjoying their time.

Liviu-Cristian M — Google review

Great place for the whole family, beautiful surroundings outside and the aquarium itself is really well managed and spacious. Even when busy, it’s quite easy to look around. It’s a fair bit of walking but lots of places to sit down.

I absolutely love this aquarium one of my favorite. Easily my favorite part of Valencia. I would recommend buying the tickets online in advance huge time saver and it will save money. This place is great who all ages and you can easily spend the whole day here. I would highly recommend the dolphin show, it is amazing.

Emma M — Google review

Wow what a big and beautiful aquarium.I’ve visited some aquariums and I’ve never been to one where they pay so much attention to the animals and how big their living environments are. This is how we’ve ended up spending almost 4,5 hours here, something we couldn’t imagine beforehand. There are a lot different animals to see. Very good of the park to separate most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). Must say that the signage in English is very good and placed at every item.

Remco S — Google review

Superb experience for our little one and for us. It was a bit crowded as we visited during the weekend. Parking is paid extra and the spaces are quite small. The show was wonderful, a bit short for what we expected but very friendly and lovely dolphins.

Roxana P — Google review

Love the park. We had very nice weather so that is also a plus. But it's recommended to pay a visit. Only the Dolphin show was not what I expected. A little short in my opinion. But a lot fish and beautiful Aquariums to see.

The Oceanogràfic in Valencia is a wonderful place, one of the biggest aquariums in Europe. It shows a wide variety of sea creatures from different parts of the world. The dolphin show is especially good and the tunnels where you can see sharks swimming above you are amazing. The place is well organized, so it's easy to walk around and see everything. It's a great spot for a day out, especially if you have kids. I highly recommend visiting if you love sea life or want to do something special in Valencia.

An amazing day out! We went In April and it wasn’t busy at all! They had great sections to view; split into regions and it was very spacious to walk around. So many cafe/food places to eat and drink. Great kids facilities.Very convenient busy-ness screens to let you know how full an exhibit is.Staff were all very friendly.Prices for food and drink expensive but expected in an attraction.

Nature & Parks

The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is an extremely impressive state-of-the-art science complex set within a landscaped park with a huge aquarium & IMAX screen. The architect Santiago Calatrava is largely responsible for the stunning architecture, which has been met with mixed reactions from Valencians. It's well worth visiting for the beauty and scale of the buildings, as well as the variety of exhibits on offer.

Amazing place. One of my favorite spots and definitely a must visit if you are in Valencia. The complex was designed by Santiago Calatrava and the architecture is just amazing. It includes different buildings, each one really beautiful and overall is a great place for pictures and for taking a walk.I bought a ticket that included visits to the science museum, a movie and the aquarium. I do not think the entrance to all of these it's worth it, but you can try, specially if you come with children.

Andr?s Z — Google review

I provide the review for the complex only.. as we did not have time to go inside the premises. To be honest, the architectural designs are extremely amazing. I cannot describe how it really impressed me. You can see from the pictures and video. The best is to experience the complex in the afternoon and enjoying the sunset to take pictures. We love the water entertainment too.Definitely in love with this place in addition to the paellas 🥳

Mida H — Google review

Much fun for kids and grown ups. The science museum is one of the most interactive ones I've been to.The aquarium was well maintained, even though a bit expensive.Took us the good part of a whole day to cover both, ideally they should be done one a day. Buy your tickets in advance for sure, even for weekdays.

This area is a excellent spot to hang out with breeze weather. The architectural of this building is fantastic, the designer really think out of the box. You can see many local and tourist hang out at this area. It is really an iconic and the other view of the historical Valencia.

Special place, different and a must visit if you are in Valencia. Well served by means of transport and 10 minutes from the center. Futuristic structure, you can visit the botanical garden. the science museum, the innovation pavilion and what is on offer in the period you are in. Unfortunately, we came across a short period of exhibition and we still appreciated the architecture, the beautiful swimming pool with the equipment that you can rent. A moment of relaxation. You can also rent bicycles to go to the park next door or visit the exhibition space which is very large.

Max M — Google review

Amazing place. Even if you don't visit any of the buildings there, its still a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the amazing architecture. You can take a boat ride, grab a quick drink or sandwich at the small food stand. There is a small park there where you can sit on the grass and admire the view.I visited l'oceanográfico, it was nice. The kids would enjoy it the most, I think. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully enjoy it, and taking your time at each room.

Vio B — Google review

If you like Architecture, photography, and wandering around in warm weather then this is probably the place for you. The architecture is amazing and provides countless photo opportunities. The only downside was that when I visited (mid June 2023) there was a stage built by the science building that obscured many views and I understood it was there all summer as they had a number of concerts planned in the space. Also, at night it appeared that a lot of the lights went off at 10pm, and only the opera building seemed to leave the lights on later.

Michael S — Google review

The architecture is incredible. Each of the structures has distinctive features but maintains the space age style of the site. You can buy a range of entrance tickets depending on which attractions you wish to visit, the oceanographic being the most expensive. Also, it's only possible to enter the Opera House as part of a guided tour at set times. If you feel adventurous, you can hire a board or boat and shoot around the lake for a while. Each place is fascinating and worth a visit. You can also go in and out of the Science Museum as many times as you please during the day.

Michael L — Google review

I absolutely adored this place! The architecture itself is very detailed and beautiful along with being modern. So many museum and shows you can see, you must book in advance. The perfect place for anyone and kids will be very entertained. I only had time for their Oceanogràfic which takes about 3 hours to get through but was worth it. Lots to see and we even got fortunate enough to see a dolphin show which was captivating and cute to see. Would love to come back and see more, i recommend good walking shoes being that getting all the way across is a stretch in itself. But also a magnificent spot for photo ops!

Briana V — Google review

Beautiful architecture and color scheme! It has many things to see and do. And is always full of people tourists, locals and students in large groups. The exhibits inside the water spaces are beautiful pierces of art. There are several shopping and eating places within walking distance.

Tarang S — Google review

Absolutely loved this place as the glass and skeleton like architecture goes so well with the water surrounding the buildings. The buildings and gardens are maintained well and they are very clean. We happened to visit when there was a Christmas market which was lovely as they had a variety of food stalls and gift shops. We didn’t enter any of the buildings but a walk around here and the park is a great way to spend the day!

It's really a treasure. Beautiful and a wow architecture and romantic environment. I did not have opportunity to visit inside buildings but from outside its so unique. Worth to see

Great place to visit with kids or kids at heart. Lots of interactive displays set in a very beautifully designed building. Worth the visit just to explore the building. Also tickets are reasonably priced compared to some of the close by attractions.

Amazing place. It looks like it’s from the future and I love it. You need to spend a full day there to really enjoy. I spent most of the time in the museum of Science and I loved the concept. There was a section for history of music, for the earth and mars and also different experiments you could try about a lot of scientific subjects. It is very educational and fund for children and people of all ages. I had fun.

These amazing futuristic buildings in Valencia are a must see. We visited on a cruise and the shuttle bus dropped up in the town centre where there are plenty of historic buildings to view. But I wanted to see the HEMISFERIC structure and other "star trek style futuristic buildings" and WOW WOW WOW. Thanks to Google maps and a cheap local bus ride to get us there.

The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is an absolute must-visit destination. This sprawling complex is more than just a cultural hub; it's a fusion of art, science, and nature, beautifully encapsulated in striking modern architecture. Each building within the complex is a masterpiece, drawing your attention with its innovative design and aesthetic appeal. The site encompasses a museum, an aquarium, and a cultural center, each offering a unique experience. The museum is a treasure trove of knowledge, ideal for those keen on science and technology. Meanwhile, the aquarium is a journey through marine life, making it perfect for families and nature enthusiasts. The cultural center, with its variety of events and exhibitions, caters to a broad range of interests. But it's not just about what's inside these buildings. The surrounding area, with its lush greenery and water features, creates a serene environment that's perfect for leisurely walks or sitting back to soak in the scenery. It's also a fantastic place for bike riding, with paths winding through the stunning modern landscape. In conclusion, the City of Arts and Sciences is not just a highlight of Valencia but a symbol of modern creativity and innovation. It's a place where you can spend hours exploring, learning, and simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Whether you're visiting the museum, the aquarium, or just wandering around the complex, it's an experience that's both enriching and visually spectacular.

It really worth the visit. They have student discount, whoever it’s not mentioned nowhere. Ask at the desk before buy your ticket. The building is incredible. I highly recommend you spend time walking around to take nice pics. There are good cafes and Restaurants around too.

Gabriel P — Google review

The low rating is specifically for the science museum. I paid €9 and it was a total waste of money. The building itself is incredible, but you can see it for free from the outside. The exhibits inside are 90% Spanish with no translations. Everything felt disorganized which was a shame given how much space they had to work with. This could’ve been an amazing place to visit, but save your money and just walk through the lobby and visit the outside areas.

Lilly R — Google review

Great architectural space to explore. Small science exhibition inside that is for free. Ideal also to go with kids.Around are nice possibilities to have an extended walk as well as doing some great pictures of that architectural master piece.

Must visit when in Valencia. You can walk from central Valencia in apparently 50 min or you can take a bus or a tram. Definitely very impressive! Spanish modern architecture to its T. I loved everything about it. There’s some restaurants and bathrooms if you are looking for one. Highly recommend.

Artur S — Google review

Even though i did not enter any of the facilities where a ticket was required and only went there for sightseeing, I reccomend visiting this place for sure. The architechure is spectacular during daytime and even more spectacular at night. The vibe is also nice. There is also the park a level above the buidings which shines the most during the day. So you have to visit it twice, on daytime or when is dark. Or get there around sunset to get the best of both worlds.

Wow wow wow! Spectacular experience. This is a wonderful place to wander among museum pieces, beautiful plant life, and gorgeous views. I wish we would have planned more time. Highly recommend.

This is a major complex in Valencia. There are multiple museums and sites to see. There is a lot of walking. It is a nice layout with pools and greenery and statues right near the end of the river park. We spent an entire afternoon in the oceanografic, going from building to building and site to site, which is well mapped. You can also get an audio guide in multiple languages for €4 per person. They offer discounts for seniors, kids, students disabled and unemployed. There are multiple restaurant options throughout the complex and within each individual museum area. The costs for a standard note at the april month was €37 and student was €31. We went through the aquariums and saw different fish, Coral, octopus. Sea lions sharks Baluga, whales, dolphins, penguins turtles and tortoises. There is s dolphin show 4-5 times each day. The Oceanografic is both inside and outside so sunglasses or an umbrella may be necessary at times. Overall. I loved it and do did my college aged student.

This gorgeous museum is like traveling to the future. Actually, I believe parts of Star Wars was filmed here too! It’s very kid friendly catering to all intrigued minds with plenty of restrooms, rest points, food options and handicap access. Elevators, open spaces for those with limited mobility. Go early and make a full day of it. There’s parking but easiest by bus or taxi. The bus will leave right in front of the entrance. We took a 3 and 8 year old who had a blast all day here! A MUST see in Valencia. They change the exhibits all the time too, so there’s always a reason to go back!!

Great architecture and it is probably the best sight to visit in Valencia. It's free to walk around the outside too, where you can take photos. We were staying in the city centre and walked down Turia park to get there which itself is worth visiting. The previous route of the river is now a park.We were there near Christmas and there was a Christmas market with mulled wine etc which was nice in the evening. We visited Oceanographic and the science museum. Both worth seeing but a lot to fit into one day.

Fresh food market

Sights & Landmarks

The Central Market of Valencia, Spain is a massive and beautiful market filled with fresh produce, spices, and specialty ingredients from all over the country. It's one of the largest markets in Europe and is also home to a Michelin starred chef who prepares bites at Central Bar. There are many stalls selling unique items from all over Spain, making it the perfect place to buy souvenirs or find regional dishes to cook at home.

Very lively place with tons of great spots for food, souvenirs and several other items. I particularly enjoyed the variety of typical foods, Spanish hams, cheeses and the ambience of the market. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops so it makes for a very nice area of the city.

Adriana P — Google review

A unique market experience and must-see for tourists! While you might not be able to purchase many of the items, there are still fresh juices, drinks, snacks, and other take-home items. The freshness of every market item is unlike anything I’ve seen in the states!

Colleen M — Google review

The market is a dream come true for any foodie. We visited twice while in Valencia and got to try a lot of stuff. The produce is all fresh and the prices are absolutely fine. There are also bathrooms right by one of the main entrances.I'd appreciate at least a small corner to eat the food you purchase there. There's plenty of outside seating by one of the side entrances, but no shadow.

Linda S — Google review

This market is incredible! It's probably the best indoor market I've ever visited.I'm almost lost for words. The building itself is beautiful, but it's the amazing amount of authentic working stalls inside that has to be seen to be believed. The choice of fresh seafood, vegetables, cheeses, meats, sweets, the list goes on, will take your breath away. The fact that this market serves the local community rather than pandering to the hoards of tourists adds greatly to its charm. Not to be missed.

Michael L — Google review

The Central Market is one of the iconic places in Valencia. The architecture of the building itself, specially built for market trade, is noteworthy. But the most interesting thing is inside. There are fruit and vegetable rows and butcher shops with such a variety of jamon! Fish ruins are easy to find by their specific smell. But this is not the smell of a week’s catch, but a mixture of aromas of the freshest fish, octopus, cuttlefish and many more unknown sea creatures. Here you can wander around just like that, watching with interest the interactions between sellers and buyers, plunging into truly Spanish everyday life.

Verónica — Google review

Fresh products of all kinds. I recommend walking around before choosing what you want.Prices also greatly differ. You can always ask to try before you buy. Don’t come full, you will have plenty of choices of snacks here that easily count as a full lunch :)

Very nice covered market in a very nice building!😍 If you are in Valencia you should definitely see it. Fresh meat, fish, vegetables, herbs, etc. A feast for the eyes. You can also enjoy coffee / tea / wine etc at the bar in the Mercado. Super friendly people, we will definitely come again. Love it!❤️Until next time😃

Janet S — Google review

Wow, what an unbelievable site. There are so many vendors, fresh foods and delicious treats all over this place. There are a few things to know before coming here.. Some of the vendors only accept cash, they do not allow you to TOUCH the fruit unless you are purchasing it, it says it closes at 3:00 but everything shuts down at 2:00pm. On the back there is a nice bar with a long wait to sit at where you can grab coffee or a drink. It is crowded with locals and travelers. Go early on if you want a more upbeat relaxed experience because if you go towards closing there is a rushed feel. Next to the bar is a key copying place & a place to fix leather. This market is worth checking out!

Gina B — Google review

A must visit for tourists and locals. One of the oldest markets in Europe that has been renovated and it shows; the architecture is beautiful and looks really clean for a market - so be sure to look up at the building as it can be missed with the other eye catching produce on offer. There can be an overwhelming amount of stalls to choose from and the market is huge, so give yourself ample amount of time to explore. There are plenty of cultural foods and drinks all at very good prices - there is bound to be something you will like.Minor issue is there is not much place to sit in so be prepared to either eat outside or standing up. Also there is a small fee for the toilet use.

Sam S — Google review

Notice the parrot symbol all over the place, including the old parrot structure on top of the dome of the entire building. This bird is emblematic of the market being the place for news of town gossip! This symbol has existed since the central market has existed!Numerous fruit stands, delis, butchers, artisan products and etcetera. Also has a few restaurants to eat in while you are shopping. You will see that even locals shop for their greens and fruits here.I would recommend getting a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice or a quick cafe cortado before walking around this massive commercial areas, which used to be the center of town.If wanting solid photos with less people in the vicinity, I would recommend coming right before siesta hours so that the place is semi-empty!

Nabil R — Google review

Come early, at least by 9:30am to walk with a bit of breathing space! Mind you it is actually quite crowded by then, but the crowd gets really intense by 11am.It is a proper functioning market with beautifully preserved architecture. It is wonderful to walk through and try their local products and purchase seasonal fruits/veg.

The Central Market of Valencia is one of the oldest markets still in use in Europe and has been declared a ''Heritage of Cultural Interest'' site by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. After about ten years of work it was inaugurated in the course of 1928 and decades later, in 2010, it was completely renovated. It's a popular spot among tourists as well as locals, as it’s the perfect location to immerse yourself in the heart of local culture and to get lost in its numerous aisles filled with local products.

Central Market Valencia is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves fresh, local food and an authentic shopping experience. The market is a bustling hub of activity where vendors offer an incredible variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, spices, and baked goods. The quality of the products is outstanding and the vendors are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer tips and advice on preparing and cooking their products. The market is also a feast for the eyes, with colourful displays of fresh produce and beautiful architecture that captures the essence of Valencia's history and culture. The market is conveniently located in the heart of the city and is easily accessible by public transportation or on foot.Overall, Central Market Valencia is a wonderful place to experience the local food culture and indulge in some delicious, fresh, and healthy ingredients for your meals. Fascinating old market building with all variety of foods on offer. Very Spanish and a treat to see all of the fresh produce. Worth going when there is some hustle and bustle around the middle of the day. It opens from 7:30am to 3:00pm so don’t make the mistake of trying to visit in the evening!

Jeremy G — Google review

This is a beautiful traditional Spanish market with great architecture both inside and outside. You can find pretty much anything there including turon, sweets, chocolates, exotic fruits. It is also a great place to eat small tapas for lunch.

Gilles C — Google review

The biggest and most popular market in Valencia. We visited on two separate days to be able to see every shop. Multitude of options from trinkets and souvenirs to butchers and food stalls. If you’re a tourist looking to buy souvenirs to bring back home, this market is your one-stop shop.

Ye A — Google review

This should be your number 1 place to visit whilst in Valencia if your a foodie like myself. It is simply stunning with a vast array of different shops and little restaurants inside. We spent a couple of hours here but could have stayed longer as it was so much fun. Free to enter and free to see all the beautiful types of foods from this area.

Joanne P — Google review

Fantastic place. First of all, the building is phenomenal, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The market has something for everyone, lots of seafood, different fruits and vegetables. Of course, there is also the famous prosciutto, which you must try. You haven't had breakfast, everything is waiting for you here 🙂🙂🙂

Nice place to visit to grab some snacks and taste some of the localities. There you can buy veggies, fresh and cured meats, cheeses, oils and amazing seafood and even some jewelry. The Pescados stand was amazing, there you can get some fresh Unis ( sea urchin) and oysters 🦪 by peace and try right there with lemon. That was so yummy! We tried cheese and sausages too.As well as some really nice olive oils.Amazing place to check out if you’re a foodie and you can get some gifts too!

The Central Market in Valencia is great. It is in a very good location with lots on offer nearby, bars/ tapas/ street food, seating options a plenty.the street area around the market has lots to see with a number of vintage and artistic stalls. The indoor area is foodie heaven! With lots of local delights . And beyond that, lots of windy lanes to explore.

Sun R — Google review

Paradise for foodie lovers! You can eat, drink, buy souvenirs, taste excellent oils and many more. Some merchants do not accept taking photos so please keep that in mind.

Zuzanna K — Google review

Love this market! Huge variety of food, both fresh groceries and cooked dishes. We wondered around for hours trying things from different stalls including fresh oysters! Great place to spend the afternoon. Only open until 3pm.

Bav M — Google review

Beautiful old local market. Go early! Everything is closing down by 2pm (14:00).Great option for small bites, local specialties and local meat and seafood. If you’re a fan, look for the local fish mongers with fresh oysters 🦪 and uni/urchin,…or look for a favorite cured meat, paella, or seasonal fruit, all of which you can enjoy on the spot. For fresh food, be prepared with cash. Some vendors only accept cash, others only cash for small purchases, and most did not want to accept the Mercat certificados (cash coupons) that say you can spend them on market purchases. Most vendors told me they wouldn’t accept the certificates at all, or they were only for parking but not purchases.

Anne D — Google review

Market open from 7.30 till 15.00.The best tinto de verano. Good selections of cheese and meat products. We got really nice dinner there and deserts.

Agata D — Google review

A must see - one of the largest in the world with an astonishing choice and opportunities to drink/eat. Early in the morning the fish market is fantastic. A pity we cannot go shopping there every week.

Raphael W — Google review

It’s the place to be when you want to buy fresh vegetables and all other ingredients. We saw a lot of things. If you just ho to the Central Market you can find all the ingredient to make a whatever dish you want to cook.We bought delicious Turron here to eat. Our first time. The atmosphere is good. The market is clean and hygienic. Even the fish and meat area are clean.

Animal park

Outdoor Activities

The Valencia Bioparc is a modern naturalistic zoo in Spain that boasts an array of African animals such as lions, gorillas, and giraffes. The park's focus on education and conservation sets it apart. The innovative landscaping creates the illusion of free-roaming animals without visible fences segregating their habitats. Madagascar is particularly magical with lemurs cavorting around waterfalls among lush vegetation.

Very nice experience! Animals looking good and healthy. The installation are very clean and well kept. A lot of freedom for the animals. We liked the fact that different species are together kept as in their natural environment (co-living). Happy to visit again. Entrance price is in good relation. You can see that they take really good care of the animals ans the park. Enhorabuena, Team Bioparc!

Eivissa L — Google review

We liked the park because of the beautiful surroundings and everything is nicely put together. They have a lot of beautiful animals which you can see from quite small distance. We didn't like the price regarding the size of the park. It's actually quite small, was expecting a larger park... you can't bring some sort of food with you, which they don't have written on their site so don't bring many snacks with you, fruits are allowed. In general it's a lovely zoo but there are a lot more beautiful and larger round the Europe...

Jelena P — Google review

Bioparc Valencia is a fantastic zoo that is sure to please visitors of all ages. The zoo is well-maintained and organized, with informative signage and exhibits that teach visitors about the animals. The animals are well-cared for and seem to be happy in their enclosures. The setting of the zoo is also beautiful, with lush vegetation and ponds. I would highly recommend Bioparc Valencia to anyone visiting Valencia.Pros:- Well-maintained and organized zoo- Large collection of African fauna- Informative signage and exhibits- Educational and entertaining for all ages- Beautiful settingCons:- Can be crowded during peak season- Some exhibits could be largerOverall, I had a wonderful experience at Bioparc Valencia and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia!

Very nice place to spend a day, very clean and well maintained. The animals are well-cared and have spacious enclosures, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day.Even in hot summer day, there was so much shade it was actually comfortable.Food is expensive and not very good quality, but you do not visit Bioparc for the restaurant.

Rafael P — Google review

Our recent visit to Bioparc Valencia was an absolutely wonderful experience for our family. The park is impeccably clean and beautifully designed, making it a delight to explore. The concept of creating immersive habitats for the animals is executed to perfection, offering visitors a unique and enriching experience. We were particularly impressed with how family-friendly the park is. Our 2-year-old daughter was able to enjoy every part of the park thanks to the thoughtful inclusion of special logs and platforms for little ones to climb and get a good view of the animals, even when fences were in place. This made the visit exceptionally engaging for her, and we could see the joy in her eyes as she watched the animals up close. The variety of animals and the naturalistic enclosures make Bioparc Valencia stand out as a top-notch zoo. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing our visit with interesting facts and information about the animals.Overall, Bioparc Valencia exceeded our expectations in every way. It's a must-visit for families with young children and anyone who appreciates well-maintained, thoughtfully designed zoological parks. We left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return in the future. Highly recommended!

Simeon A — Google review

I honestly loved this place. The enclosures are fantastic as different species live amongst each other. The animals looked relaxed and happy too which I find the most important factor. Plenty of drink vending machines and toilets dotted around the place.

Maria N — Google review

One of the nicest zoos I've visited. The enclosures are built in such a way as to feel as natural as possible to both visitors and the animals of the park. You will hardly see any fences or cages, it all feels a lot more natural. The theme is Africa and there are only African animals in the park. The highlight has to be the fact that you can enter the lemur enclosure and have them running around you and up in the trees above you.

Emil O — Google review

Beautiful place, the Bioparc Valencia it is known for its unique design that aims to recreate and preserve natural habitats for animals. .The zoo focuses on African wildlife and providing its animals with spacious enclosures that resemble their natural habitats as closely as possible. This allows visitors to observe the animals in environments that are more similar to the wild, promoting both their well-being and education about their natural behavior. If you have an interest in wildlife and conservation, it is definitely worth a visit. Kids will love the place.

Giuseppe G — Google review

Lovely experience. From start to finish there were really entertaining ways to look and be very close to the animals . You also can have lunch and good ice cream there.Make sure to reserve about 3-4 hours to see everything calmly and enjoy it.

Nicolás M — Google review

I've been to many zoos and this is among the best. Focused only on African species, they combine several different animals in the same exhibit. For example rhinos and zebras or giraffes and impala. there is a great flow to the design and you usually have different viewpoints of the animal areas. not a traditional cage anywhere. highly recommended.

Sean E — Google review

Stunning modern take on a Zoo experience with carefully designed natural enclosures that will make you think "how can just that keep the animals inside?!" and fully immerse you into an authentic Safari experience! The highlight of my visit was seeing the rhinos and hippos playfully fight! What a show!

Ondřej Ř — Google review

Great place for kids and grown-ups.The park is perfect for 1/2 day to full day journey. It is split in different areas, like Africa, Madagascar, etc.Animals have big and very natural areas with minimal fences between them and the people. The restaurant is OK with its price/quality ratio.

Stanimir K — Google review

One of the most beautiful zoo places I have ever been! It only took around couple of hours to check all the animals and they were really interesting in a well designed surroundings. Recommend 👍

Eimintas K — Google review

Really enjoyed the visit. Plenty of biomes and animals to see. Lemurs up close were great. Restaurant food was brilliant and had no issues there whatsoever. Could do with more shading and possibly a mist feature to keep guests cooled during peak season, at some parts, the heat was unbearable.

Callum H — Google review

I really enjoyed my visit to Bioparc Valencia. It is a nice zoo, smaller than I expected but that makes it easier to look around. My trip took ~2h for everything. It seems like they pay a lot of attention about every detail, especially animal welfare and their comfort.

di?i — Google review

Awesome park. Very pleasant place to spend time, especially with children. Very comfort spaces for animals, big, spacious, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day, there is almost none quilty feeling on visiting zoo. I liked how clean the place is, wood, stone and glass everywhere for the terrain relief. There are nice places to eat, rest, buy a drink on premises.

Iuliia Z — Google review

A really great animal park - clean and animal friendly. The enclosures blend in with nature, there are no cages.Visitors really enjoy this place! Suitable for visiting with small children.Animals can be viewed from many angles. Their activities can also be observed in their private places - caves. Many food places that allow you to enjoy this pleasant park longer. What is very important for families with children - there are toilets everywhere. Some birds are "free range" (see picture!)

Kylli K — Google review

I think this was the nicest bioparc I ever went to. I really love the idea of creating micro-ecosystems and putting together species which are compatible. Also a great thing is they do not have cages! Animals are separated using streams of water and rock walls. I really recomand visiting this place!

Bogdan T — Google review

Had an amazing day at Bioparc, Valencia. It is so well designed and planned. It is really easy to see the animals and they are very relaxed and natural in this environment. There are plenty of signs giving lots of interesting facts too. Would definitely recommend to all ages and allow plenty of time for your visit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Bioparc in Valencia is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're surrounded by lush greenery and an immersive experience that transports you to different habitats. What sets Bioparc apart is its commitment to conservation and creating a naturalistic environment for its inhabitants. It's not just a zoo; it's a sanctuary for wildlife. The kid-friendly atmosphere here is remarkable. My children were captivated by the diverse array of animals and enjoyed every moment exploring the park. The interactive exhibits and educational programs kept them engaged and entertained throughout our visit.Overall, Bioparc offers a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and environmental consciousness. A must-visit for families and nature enthusiasts alike!

Ilias B — Google review

Bioparc was beautiful and very well designed. We enjoyed seeing the animals from different viewpoints. Eating lunch outside where we could see giraffes, lions and other animals was a great experience. Your food choices were amazing. It wasn’t “junk” food. We enjoyed Bioparc more than we have enjoyed zoos in the United States. The admission prices are fair and well worth the visit. Thank you.

Erica — Google review

Amazing place with various animals (yes it is not a typical zoo) - the animations are very educational (some of them are only in Spanish) and the visiting path is well designed, no need to look at the map all the time as there is only one main path. The animals are in quite good condition. The dauphin animation starts with a quiz (6 questions) to select a winner to have the opportunity to be interact with the dauphin which is a great idea! However the animation itself is a little bit “messy” as all dauphins are doing different activities on the same time.. the buffer restaurant has a great view on the giraffes and lions.Highly recommend to buy the tickets online in advance which saves time and money (slightly cheaper than buying on site)

Chris G — Google review

Spent a bit more than 2 hours there. Amazing place to spend time and see beautiful animals. We went at 10AM right when it opens and had bought tickets in advance so we got in super fast and had no queue in front.

Dagnija I — Google review

Nice park! Our 2nd time here! Great place to visit with the kids!Nice show of birds at 4.30 pm.The conditions for animals seem better and closer to natural than in the usual zoos.Make sure to put one layer of clothes more! It always feels colder than in the city. However, we hoped to see more species of animals such as snakes and others!

Оксана А — Google review

Love this place! So wonderful animals, lovely shows and great place to spend the day with your kids. Check the hours of the shows beforehand to be sure you won’t miss anything interesting.

Anastassia K — Google review

Easily the best zoo I have ever been to! Absolutely stunning landscaping and happy, healthy animals with large enclosures mimicking nature. So many interesting species to see and you get to see them so close I have never experienced anything like this! 100% worth a visit!

Susanna R — Google review

Truly amazing place. It's designed in a way that allowes you easily navigate to see everything without getting lost or using the map, although the map is available. You can spend there 2h but I'd recommend spending at least 5-6h. Personally I saw the whole park and after that I attended every event possible.Activities like live exhibition or meeting with keepers are enjoyable even if you don't speak Spanish. You can get a ticket online, including the meal which is a bit cheaper than buying it on site. Nevertheless it's not expensive either way.Bioparc is located 10-15 minutes on foot from metro.I should add that the whole place is so adorable, I'd go there even without any animals inside.

Castle

Sights & Landmarks

I used the lift to access the castle. Its on the main road and easy to find. We went at lunch time which was quieter as it was hotter. There was no waiting for the lift. We were planning to go in the morning but there were a load of school kids waiting to enter. We did see posts about the lift being accessible in the evening and being free but when we walked by last night the door was closed after closing time of 8pm so dont think it is accessibleI paid €2.70 and had my 4 year old in a pushchair so didn't need to pay separately for her which was awesome. It is all very accessible and the staff very helpful. The toilets were very clean too.My 4 year old loved the section on evil toys.It is so worth the visit especially as it is free

Tanveer — Google review

We climbed up at 10 am. It was about a 15-20-minute walk, 170 m high up. Even then, it was already hot but still manageable. At 10.30 there was a guided tour in English, it was worth taking the tour. Only 3 of us took part in the tour, which was 1 hour long and free. Then, we walked around and took some photos. It was a nice way to find out more about the history of Alicante.

Agnes H — Google review

At this place elevator is located. It costs 2.7 euro to use it both sides up and down. It's quite useful because you can also go on foot but it's exhausting. The place is absolutely amazing! The best views you can find in Alicante. No lines in the Morning but when I was going back in about 12am there were a huge line to get upstairs.

Mikhail N — Google review

Lift is open. €2.70 to go up. FREE to come down. We walked up and got the lift down.FREE to walk around the castle with stunning views and cute little cafés.

Joe C — Google review

Great experience , you can use the lift from seaside to get in but the best option for active peoples is to get there on your own .Great place to visit. Nice views amd snack bar . Entrance is free.

Sandra U — Google review

To be honest I went up for the view and it didn’t disappoint me. If you’re in Alicante it a must visit. Pro tip, go there late afternoon to avoid the big queues for the lift.

Benjamin K — Google review

A place you will want to visit more and more times. Spectacular views, all necessary facilities, museum rooms. An elevator will take to the top.

Antonio — Google review

It's great that this lift exists. Without that we would be unable to go to the castle as we were with two little kids. The drawback is that there is only one lift and the trip takes a while so there are queues. Beside that it's great.Nevertheless if you can I would suggest you going by foot as it seemed like a nice trip with nice views and surroundings.

Rafa? P — Google review

The castle lift is great, as are the staff. However, there are no leaflets giving the history of the castle, but there are a few plaques here and there. It seems that the views from the castle are the main feature. They are stunning. There are no facilities for those with limited mobility once you leave the lift. I still take all my visitors here tho.

Pauline K — Google review

We walked through Alicante and entered via a steep walkway at the rear of castle (main entrance is opposite beach via a lift and tunnel) that had some houses with pretty garden pot arrangements, walk was fairly difficult but views are good, good castle to walk & on our visit food and other stalls with some street entertainment, toilets and a lovely viewing cafe.

Steve F — Google review

Explored this enchanting castle with a fantastic view – a visual treat! However, disappointed as the website claimed it's free, yet an unexpected fee was charged. Despite the queue, the beauty of the castle made it a worthwhile visit.

Nafiseh S — Google review

very nice place really worth visiting. You can take a lift. Its 2.7€ per person and free for seniors above 65 and kids. Amazing panorama

"Visiting Castle Santa Barbara in Alicante was an unforgettable experience! The panoramic views of Alicante and even glimpses of Benidorm from the top were absolutely breathtaking.Ascending to the castle offers not just a historical journey but also a visual feast, with every step revealing more of the stunning landscape below. From the Mediterranean Sea stretching out to the horizon to the charming rooftops of Alicante's old town, every angle offers a new perspective. The castle itself is steeped in history, and exploring its ancient walls and towers adds an extra layer of fascination to the visit. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a scenic spot to soak in the beauty of the region, Castle Santa Barbara is a must-visit destination."

Sebastian G — Google review

Really big castle on a high cliff. You can hike up or take the elevator from the beach (2.7€ per person - can pay with card). The castle visit is free and gives very nice viewpoints.

craziyass — Google review

Lift to the Castle. Free for over 65s! No queue in December. Great Castle with audio-visual history of Alicante. Great views of surrounding mountains.

Donald M — Google review

Amazing mountain views. Fresh air and a great authentic atmosphere! Bring your jacket as it gets chilly in the mountains!

As A — Google review

This is a very interesting place, saturated with the history that goes back almost 2000 years. Besides the place will give you one of the kinds of views on the city and surrounding area. Absolutely breathtaking view. The only downside is that you might stay in line for the elevator on top and back if the place gets too crowded

Alex S — Google review

The best thing the city could have created 😄 an elevator takes you straight up to the fortress and down. During the day huge lines and it's quite hot up there. I would recommend to come around 6 pm - almost no line and enough time to explore everything.

Yulia Z — Google review

Horrible experience. It was a weekend in May, so not even high season, and there were only perhaps 20m of line to the elevator in the tunnel. Yet, due to a slow, tiny elevator (maybe 6 people + operator max) it took us almost 45min to get up. The walk alone to the end of the dark-ish tunnel (probably 300m or more) already made me wish I would've just walked up.There's no kinds of regulations for entry and I saw some with huge luggages (taking the space of 1 person) or children's cart (2-3 persons). Couldn't these be left down for the time of the visit? This also a security issue.Note that it's not free, but 2,7€. Card is accepted, not sure of cash. There are two machines to buy tickets with, but there's only one person who will "sell" you the ticket using it - so basically only one is in use at the time.Overall, I recommend everyone physically capable to just walk up instead of wasting your time waiting for the elevator. Most of us could use the exercise, too.

Random N — Google review

Absolutely stunning views all round from the top of the castle, stacks to see round the castle also. wheelchair access may be limited as there are some very steep places to walk.lots of places to get food and drink and there are toilet facilities scattered around..you can walk up the steps or take the lift up..the photo I put on with the blue lights on the ceiling is the tunnel you walk through from main road to the lift..

Pete N — Google review

A fantastic castle with a gorgeous view of Alicante. There is an elevator, however we made the choice to walk up and enjoy the scenery as we went. There isn't a ton of educational posts but this feels like a real working castle and not a museum.

D M — Google review

This beach was amazing! There's not a lot of waves, practically no seaweed, and the jellyfish are harmless. Got to pick up some of them... very goowy 😅 There's water to rinse your feet at every station and bathrooms at station 7.

Valerie R — Google review

Well worth a visit even if you don't like history. It's free but if you don't want to walk up the hill you can get the lift for 2.7 euros

Shopping mall

Shopping

Zenia Boulevard is a sprawling outdoor shopping center in Orihuela Costa, boasting over 100 national Spanish and international brands. The mall features an American-style layout with an Italian-style Piazza at its center. It's not just a shopping destination; the venue hosts live music performances and events throughout the year, offering daily entertainment for children during the summer months. Additionally, it houses a bowling alley, video arcade, play fountains in the main square, and a massive Alcampo supermarket.

So many shops.... Decent Al Campo Supermarket....... Decent food places........ I love going there!

Michael K — Google review

Always a great shopping experience, I love the open air idea as it can get quite hot during the day and this allows for wind to flow through.Large variety of shops, lots of choices for meals, really gutted they took away the play area for kids which is now a Taco Bell and 2 other restaurants.

Roxanne K — Google review

Great place to shop and eat can get busy at times, some people dont wear masks which is a no no and dont like to social distance apart from that would definitely recommend a trip here as xmas tree and lights are now on

Neil H — Google review

Excellent place for whole family to spend time there! There are many department stores, big grocery store Alcampo, food courts, restaurants, kids zone, bowling and many many other interesting places! Highly recommended 👌🏻

Sofia R — Google review

Fantastic shopping centre, if not the best one I’ve been in Europe. All outdoor, but adequate covering above if it does rain this place is really plush.Spotless clean with some great shops and lots of underground parking.Great play area upstairs to drop your kids off if need be. My Fav!

Patryk J — Google review

Great place for a day out. Great shopping, great kids park on second level, take socks for kids if going in play frame as they need them. you can pay for socks but plan ahead. you can't really leave them in the in summer as it gets too hot and you need to get them water but they will love it. The central square has water fountains that kids love and go into in swimwear. surrounded by cafes so you can cool down with a drink while the kids cool down in the water. Food options are plentiful get there early for lunch for the all you can eat options. great value but very busy. kids love those as they can go up multiple times and try everything. Overall, a great place to spend a day.

Benjamin S — Google review

Like the Trafford centre but outdoors it’s stunning. So clean and live bands on in the food court. Great place to visit and loads of cool shops. Bring your bank card.

Ben T — Google review

Great shopping centre and nicely laid out. Lots of cafes and shops plus the food court on the top floor. We spent about 4 hours mooching around and were pleased to see it so busy with Spanish and tourists. The vegan food at 'Subway' was a real bonus too! We will definitely be back as the shopping centre is clean and bright.

Christophe C — Google review

nice..huge shopping mallsome are limited but if you are primark & decathlon fans they are super big

Siti K — Google review

Very good shopping centre with all the shops you need. They used to have water mists through out the shopping centre - these are no longer used which is sad because it can get very hot!The water fountains are great for the kids so make sure you take a change of clothes.

Rebecca A — Google review

If you need any retail therapy on the Costa Blanca South, this is THE place. Basically it is a MASSIVE, two story, open air shopping mall with pretty much everything you could want. There are hundreds of stores, covering almost anything you could need. Also a massive Alcampo supermarket (which is incredible by UK standards). There is also a food court with a host of different restaurants. Plenty of free, undercover parking. Go for 30 minutes and end up staying all day !

Tim D — Google review

Excellent place!!!!! .there's a huge electrical store with unbelievable deals on mobile phones !!! .Samsung for 200 euro odd and apple ... electric scooter section was very good gaming computers are good value too .. . This shopping centre is also huge so allow 6 hours in the place .. don't recommend the American diner for food !!!!! Terrible

Forklift G — Google review

Zenia Boulevard... I mean... what can i say. It has its ups and its downsThe range of services is wonderful, loads of shops and places to eat like supermarkets such as alcampo and Che!!However... on the other hand, it's too damn busy! especially in the summer like if you want a decent experience in the summer here go in the morning. There's loads of parking both surface and underground which is lovely.

Lord H — Google review

The new renovation should have improved the shopping mall, but in some aspects I find the exact opposite. The lockers inside the bathrooms near Primark are gone. Why? They were really handy for people with many shopping bags. The workers laying the tiles did a really skimpy job. Plus, the tiles are porous and have many stains. Some things I find in bad taste, like the plastic climbing ivy on both sides of the corridor on the main entrance, why put plastic plants in such a climate? For low maintenance… I guess. It looks so kitschy. They recently installed the bike locking bars, already shaking and screws coming out from the bad installation.

Dora P — Google review

Really cool and modern shopping centre. Loads of shops, loads of choices, upstairs you have restaurants to eat, also Alcampo supermarket, and LeroyMerlin, good choices of shops,if you want to have a nice day at a nice shopping mall, in La Zenia or Orihuela area this is your place.

There are many options to select from when it comes to shopping or dining. The shopping centre is open air and is exceptionally clean (especially the bathrooms) and aesthetically pleasing. It is a wonderful location to spend time with your family or partner.

Amazing shopping center, with almost all you need. You can spend a whole day shopping and also enjoy the coffee shops, restaurants and Alcampo supermarket.

Thomas T — Google review

We went here for lunch a few times and it was always a good experience. I even bring my clients here to check it out before they buy theie property in the areaWife loves to shop and I like to chill out at one of the bars or coffee shops inside the mall.Overall it's a good shopping center, 15 minutes drive from Torrevieja Centro so not bad located. Lots of shops to sarisfy most tastes I'd say and also quite diverse food options too which I love haha.Just like the Habaneras shopping center, when is windy or the weather is not great it's not s pleasent experience to go around and shop or enjoy having a coffee on of the teraces since the shop is completly open.Other than that a good experience coming here a couple of times per week.

Adrian B — Google review

Fantastic shopping centre, if not the best one I’ve been in Europe. All outdoor, but adequate covering above if it does rain this place is really plush.Spotless clean with some great shops and lots of underground parking.Great play area upstairs to drop your kids off if need be.

Conner R — Google review

Great shopping centre with plenty of car parking available. All the top shops are located in the centre. Shops to suit all tastes even supermarket and tech shops. Whole top floor has a wide range of food outlets and restaurants.

Charles T — Google review

A fantastic shopping center with a relaxing and inviting architecture. The shops are positioned so that you enter through the doors that open out to a shared outdoor area.Instead of building shops on the height, all shops are built almost as a stand alone shop. Most brands are represented here in some way. You don't get bored, but constantly seek and find new interesting places to explore and have fun.

I Q — Google review

There's a great range of shops and I parked in the free underground car park. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the toilets are currently being renovated and there was a queue for the one ladies toilet (a portaloo)!

Anita D — Google review

Never seen a mall like it. Had pretty much everything you could want. Nice touches such as light water vapour sprays cooling the air, water fountains for the kids to play in and a massive food concourse with just about every time of food. .......I've never seen a Burger king with open air balcony and nearby sun lounger! Easy to spend holiday you didn't intend to!

Lighthouses

The Faro Cabo de Palos port authority is located on a cliff in the province of Cádiz, just beside the bay of La Manga. The lighthouse features a large pedestal and can be seen 24 miles away. Beautiful scenery and great area to go for a walk are some of the reasons why this port authority is well-loved by visitors. The area around it also has a kiosk, with great staff and toilets, which makes it perfect for an enjoyable visit.

Very nice place. Very nice beaches and places to dive and snorkel is amazing close to the Faro. Videos YouTube: Norwegian Viking in Spain.

Wesley R — Google review

Nice lighthouse on the top of the hill. Beneath it small lagune. Unfortunately it's no access to the lighthouse itself, it would be nice to climb on the top. The view from nearby is amazing, Mediterranean sea in it's beauty is enormously beautiful. Also nice view to Mar Menor. Free parking. No charge for entering the area.

Ksenia B — Google review

Beautiful first time I have visited my partner as been before. We parked our motorhome here just 2 minutes walk from the lovely bars and restaurants.A must visit

Angie W — Google review

Nice views and nice lighthouse with interesting history. If you don't speak Spanish you will miss most of it though. Half way up the lighthouse, the guide said they had some leaflet in English for my partner but it was never materialised. The visit started 10 minutes late due to the previous group running behind, but there was nobody to tell you or any waiting area, just a laminated note outside the closed doors of the lighthouse to say you had to wait there for your guide. There are many stairs and it is quite steep that some people will struggle with so, it would be good for the organisation to advertise it better or include some kind of warning to avoid nasty surprises or disappointment.

Maria D — Google review

Beautiful lighthouse on a cliff just beside a bay. You can catch a nice view on the La Manga strip from this cliff. But if you want a lighthouse tour, be careful of its visiting hours and the tours need to be previously scheduled. If you plan to visit the strip, this is a nice stop.

Great area to go for a walk and enjoy the view. Dont be fooled by first look, there is alot of cool places to discover around this area. A kiosk, with great staff, and toilets is positive for sure!

Museums

Teatro Romano de Cartagena is an ancient Roman amphitheater that has been restored and turned into a museum displaying artifacts found by archaeologists. Visitors can enjoy walking through the amphitheater, taking in the views from the top, and exploring the surrounding hilltop area. Tickets can be purchased from various locations including the boat travel ticket box on the front of the marina at reasonable prices to avoid waiting in queues for entry.

Interesting trip through the museum, but the real attraction is walking through the amphitheatre, up to the top, and taking in the views.I would also recommend taking a left turn out of the exit, up the steps and heading right up to the very top of the hill (where the tall metal spikes can be seen). Had we not done so we would have missed out on some great sights and amazing views of the whole city!Worth also mentioning that we got our tickets from the boat travel ticket box on the front of the marina and found the prices very reasonable. I'm not sure if the price was different from buying at the museum, but it meant we did not have to queue to get in, which is worth it for that alone.

Phil D — Google review

Wonderful place. Only found in 1995. Still finding remains. It's strange as you have a busy town centre and at the back , all the ruins. Absolutely amazing. Can get a guide or walk yourself. Bit hilly to get to the top but such a great view. 👍

Debbie C — Google review

Only 5 euros each and 2ell worth a visit. There is an informative museum piece and a small complimentary guide. the amphitheatre is very well presented and restored. You also get access to the gardens above which lead up to a castle and museum with videos etc. the castle is 3.5 euros (April 2022)

Pierson S — Google review

Just amazing only discovered in 1990 after being built over . Go through the museum to enter, this also well worth it. Very quiet when we visited on a winter week day. Highly recommended. Mind you the whole city of Cartagena is wonderful. Lots to do and see. Great history.

Malcolm T — Google review

The museum is well set out and surprisingly spacious after entering the Tardis like small entrance. Spread over various floors but with escalators it easy to navigate. Some good exhibits highlight the importance of Cartagena as a port in Roman times. The teatro Romano itself is well worth seeing for it's overall effect. Of course it has been heavily restored after having been built on for generations. It is not always easy to see what is original and what isn't, although there are some maps that try to help. But well worth a visit.

Peter C — Google review

Stunning restored amphitheater with additional info on other finds and the surrounding dig area. Beware it can get crowded due to large group tours. You can peer over the edge for free at the street above, but access is not expensive and worth seeing up close if you’re interested.

Sara Y — Google review

Incredible place to visit. Well laid out & informative. Helpful & friendly staff and English translations throughout. A must see if you're in Cartagena.

Joanne S — Google review

Well worth a visit if in the area.I took my 3 year old free entrance for him €5 for me.By the way I see people confused on entry point of Teatro, it’s right facing the Ayuntamiento building on the Main Street. There is levels to this place with various Artifacts on display all very interesting.Escalators take you up to the mid level of Teatro.Views are absolutely phenomenal, the place is immaculate and been kept very very well, you can almost feel the atmosphere from years gone by in here.Brilliant day enjoined every minute I will be back again.

Conner R — Google review

A return visit to this epically beautiful place. This is part original and part restored and its obvious where restoration has taken place but its been done so well. The grandness of the place, the beauty and history is wonderful. The museum before you get to the actual theatre is so informative as you find out the various iterations of function of this place. We will come back again!

Michaela B — Google review

Beautiful on a Sunday say, wonderful to see how well preserved they've kept everything with a nice amount of information in both Spanish and English!

Chiz B — Google review

Arrived too early to enter but could get a good look from the outside, imagine it would be very interesting to be shown around. Very much a sun trap... very hot.

Dwayne P — Google review

This place is well worth a visit. Cheap entry fee that you don't have to pre book. When we went it was very quiet so you can get great photos without crowds in them. The main building is cool with great AC so you can wander around and read the history in comfort. Outside however is a different story. It was 40c when we went and we couldn't stay too long as it was horrendously hot. I highly recommend a visit to this historic place if you are in the area.

Jo — Google review

A facinating place to visit, however much of it is visible for free from the public streets so really no need to wait in line for it.

John — Google review

This is a beautiful history place. You will love it if you like Rome history. You can also read about how they discover the theater and the journey to recover. The location is not far away from the old city and if you came with the cars there is a parking place not far away from it.It cost less than €1 to park beside the road.

Julyana C — Google review

This place was awesome! To walk among the theatre stonework that was constructed before Christ was incredible.

Bob D — Google review

The entrance to the Museum is not where you think 🤔 it would be. It's located on the main street, we had short wait before entering due to a large cruise ship being in port. Once in you walk around exhibition of finds and work your up the levels to main event.

Andrew S — Google review

This is a beautiful Roman amphitheater in the heart of Cartegena. You enter the amphitheater through a series of tunnels and bridges that cross a museum and you can explore the site on your own. If you come to the city and have time for only one place to visit - this is the place. The site is wheelchair accessible and there is a WC for wheelchair users.

Lavi S — Google review

Amazing place. We brought a multi ticket which worked good value and covered 4 venues.

Dawn W — Google review

Very impressive to see this. You don’t need to spend money to see everything properly. We only went where it’s free and it was very immersive. I can really recommend climbing to the top to see an awesome view over the whole city.We went on a Monday (when the museum was not open)

Matthias A — Google review

A great place to visit, highly recommended. They have carried out enough restoration to show you how it would have been, even incorporating some of the original stone into the newer pieces. Fantastic

Linda H — Google review

Very interesting in the 80 90'' discovered old Roman Teatro. In the 16th century overbuild than in the 19th century dismantled. You can go around, have a nice view over the harbor and the Teatro. You can sit and rest.Recommended!

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Catedral de Murcia, a Roman Catholic church located in Plaza del Cardenal Belluga in the heart of the city, is a renowned example of Spanish Gothic architecture. Construction began in the 14th century and lasted two centuries with several changes made to its original sketch. The building was consecrated in 1467 and has since undergone expansions, repairs, and new chapels. The ornate Baroque facade contrasts with the mainly Gothic-style interior.

Loved this cathedral and Murcia in general. Really interesting mix of architectural styles and wonderful artwork. You could spend hours just wandering and examining each hidden gem.

Aaron O — Google review

Beautiful cathedral, shame it was under construction when we visited. Many cafes and restaurants around. Many parking space as well. Definitely worth to visit

Vita H — Google review

Very beautiful indeed! The statues have intricate carving with immense detail. The side has several restaurants and the front has a large courtyard with more restaurants.

Tarang S — Google review

Built between 1394-1465. The heart and the entrails of the king Alfonso X the Wise are buried under the main altar. The bell tower stands 300+ feet tall - the tallest in Spain.Look for the Chapel of the Apes (the Velez Chapel) - a great example of Flaming Gothic style. On the outside there is a huge stone chain that runs along the chapel: I had only seen another example of this (although a belt rather than chain) in one of Portuguese convents.

Vadim S — Google review

Beautiful cathedral. Well worth visiting this huge building which is the centre piece of Murcia city. Stunning architecture. Inside there are several small chapels all the way round the walls. And a grand alter at the front. We had the pleasure of seeing a service the week before Easter. The building is awe inspiring.

It's well worth a visit. The cathedral is breathtakingly beautiful, stunning, and an experience you will never forget. I am going back to visit the cathedral again because one visit isn't enough. There is so much to see. You can't go to Murcia and not visit the Cathedral.

Sandra C — Google review

words can not describe the beauty of this catedral..brilliant architecture

Zahraa Z — Google review

We visited Murcia Cathedral at the weekend, our first visit to the city. There is plenty of parking and the underground car park is about 5 minutes walk from the cathedral. The building is magnificent and is covered in wonderful medieval stonework. It is a mix of styles with the tower being a far newer eighteenth century baroque construction and the main building is fourteenth century gothic. The interior is vast and has the usual mix of wonderful carvings with very gaudy decoration in red and gold. We didn't spend as long as we'd have liked inside as it was a Sunday and we didn't want to intrude but it is certainly somewhere we'll return to.

It doesn’t really look like a cathedral inside. More like scenes of Saints and lots of Jesus figures and paint. Very much Jesus oriented. I missed history context. There is mentions of Saints and personalities, but not history or further explanation of who they were.

Outdoor Activities

The Playa de los Muertos is a beautiful and secluded pebble beach that can be reached via a challenging hiking path. Located in the Almeria region of Andalucia, this 1km-long stretch of idyllic shoreline was named after shipwrecked men who washed up on its shores. Though it's not a touristy spot, this picturesque beach is certainly worth visiting for those looking for an authentic experience.

Fabulous beach 🏖 worth to goThe access to it could be somehow difficult for elderly or disabled (stepped, rocky, quite steep at times)

One of the most beautiful beaches ... unfortunately its almost always wavy and its not possible for not professional swimmer to swim... but its really amazing to spend the time watching the amazing waves while lyong down on the small stony beach... walking from the parking around 15-20 minutes... snorkeling would be amazing here on the extreme right sode near the big rocks... a lot of amazing things to see, if u go deep u might even see octopus 🐙

Loai Z — Google review

This beach is one that you need to literally walk down the side of a steep hill to get to. The walk down is a bit dangerous if you are not wearing proper shoes. I wasn't warned about this and so I was in flip flops, needless to say, I slipped and fell over. Now, that said, this beach is well worth the walk because it is amazing. I've never been on a beach like this! Amazing water where beautifully colored fish come right up to you!! You can walk along the beautiful white sand and also little caves where you can take some refuge from the sun if you need to. No wheelchairs or baby carriages. Pack your beach needs wisely. Returning back up if you forget something would be trying. I will definitely return to this beach the next time I'm in Almería!

Nature & Parks

Located in the southeastern region of Andalucia, Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata-Níjar covers an area of 340 square kilometers and offers a diverse range of natural beauty. The park features stunning beaches, steep cliffs, and semi-desert areas that are home to a variety of plants and animals adapted to its arid environment. Additionally, visitors can explore the intriguing history of mining through abandoned mines and peculiar rock formations scattered throughout the landscape.

I just love this area. So much to see, both inland and by the coast.

This would be a stunningly beautiful place, if only it wasn't strewn throughout with litter, disused building and packaging materials, and huge amounts of plastic from the ubiquitous poly tunnels that seem to cover most of this area (yes, even in this "natural" park). It's truly awful. And shameful that the local government hasn't seen fit to get it cleaned up or maintained in any way.

Mini Hollywood is a theme park that re-creates the American Wild West, offering cowboy stunt shows, museums, a pool and zoo. Visitors are urged to experience this unique place at least once. It boasts plenty of restrooms for convenience and features amazing animal exhibits including snakes in the reptile house. The views from the top are stunning and you can also catch a train ride for added adventure.

Amazing experience! 🤩 We spent 6 hours here and we definitely could have more if it wasn’t such a hot day. 🥵We absolutely loved the western set 🤠, we dressed up and took some pictures, saw the shows. We bought the tickets with lunch included and that was good too. Great variety. The zoo is massive, more than double the size of the western set. Lots of animals, birds, reptiles. There is a bird show with parrots 🦜A full day without lots of things to do. 100% recommend! 💯

You need to go at least once! There is no other place like it.We live within 45 minutes so we have an annual pass, our children are 7&6 and still enjoy it everytime. As a parent it's reassuring to know there are plenty of bathrooms. The cowboy show might be violent for some people's taste. The show in the saloon is loud especially when they shoot the guns.Don't forget the reptile house, the snakes are awesome. The animals are worth seeing, go all the way to the top, the views are stunning. Or catch the train.Keep in mind that it's a lot of walking, this isn't ideal for older people or people unable to walk long distances.

A fun day out but it could be so much more. We watched two shows which were entertaining. The buffet was good for vegetarians as there was quite a bit of choice. The museum exhibit was interesting and informative. We were here in November and it was 21⁰C which was a perfect temperature and it wasn't too crowded. We didn't like the zoo as the enclosures were small and the animals looked sad.If it was just Mini Hollywood I would have given it a higher score

Emma C — Google review

Fantastic place to visit. Watching the Western show, Can Can dancers and Cow girls. The town was interesting to walk. Only part that let it down was the zoo. Looking at the big cats and some other animals was upsetting as some of them living in the heat they do with no clean water to drink and the Tiger being a Siberian in nearly 40 degree temperatures looked ill along with others. Pay more attention to the animals as its cruel.

Although everything was great, from facilities, entertainment, location, even a swimming pool to relax and all well maintained; I am giving one star review because they have a zoo! Animals are not well kept, there is no need to have a zoo, people should teach their children that animals should be free.. I’d boycott this place and suggest going to fort bravo instead where they have no zoo and meets all the expectations for visiting a movie set without adding extra frills just to compete with others at the expense of animals.

F P — Google review

Great experience here. The set is so fun to walk around, very cheesy and perfect to mirror the spaghetti westerns. Great shows and staff. Good value for the money, and if you park across the road in the dirt lot it's free. The zoo was quite good, *most of the animals had decent enclosures. The rattlesnakes were not well looked-after and their enclosures were very dirty. They really need to hire or train a venomous snake handler to improve the conditions. I would've liked to see an informative exhibit on the Good, the Bad and the Ugly since it was filmed here as well.

If you like this review give it a 👍Nice theme park. It feels like you're visiting the wild, wild west. Not just because of the Western town but also because of the surrounded area. It's for a good reason the used this area, in the past, to shoot Western movies. It's fun to walk around and experience how an old western town would have been. There's a show (2 times a day) which is worthwhile to see.The animal park is of nice size. Although to my opinion keeping wild animals in cages is something of the past, it's worth while walking around. The Cactus garden is a little limited.

L&R D — Google review

We drove past this park when we arrived in Spain and it was high on my husband's to-do list, so we took the 1 hour drive from where we were staying and arrived just after opening time.We booked our parking and entry tickets in advance and were able to park under cover and walked in easily with no wait.I'd definitely recommend arriving early as it's that but quieter (and cooler!) So you can get some great photos and enjoy the different buildings. We watched the 12pm and 5pm main shows outside plus the cowgirl show in the saloon.Everyone gets to the shows very early, so you need to do so too, if you want a good view. There are staff in full western gear all over the park and happy to have photos with you.We had the buffet which was very busy, but offered a lot of variety. Everyone was queuing in the sun for the 1pm opening which was a bit uncomfortable, but when we were in it was very fast to get seated. Add this to your pre-booked tickets - it's quicker and cheaper too!The zoo area seemed unnecessary to us and the animals in the big cat enclosures were clearly very hot and enclosures were too small, so we decided to give the rest of the zoo a miss - we didn't feel that the park, or our day out, really needed any more than the wild west area anyway. We all had a great day (family with 11 year old) and would recommend it to people visiting the area.

Kirsty W — Google review

Great place to visit as there is a lot to do including the Western town, animal park and water park. There are shows daily in the town both inside and out, get to the 'square' early to pick a good vantage point. The buffet lunch is excellent but will cost more, (the park doesn't allow you to take in food or drink). There are many refreshment points around which is a necessity when visiting in the summer. If you arrive before opening you will have to queue unless you buy tickets in advance, but if you arrive about an hour later there is usually no queue at all. Shows are in Spanish but this is not a problem, as it is quite obvious as to what is happening. Prices in the saloon and cafes are reasonable. The water park is small but popular with Spanish families. Plan for spending the whole day here.

Captain P — Google review

Have always wanted to go with my family, after 7 long years we finally arrive here, from the moment we arrived with helpful & polite staff to the amazing things to see & do, we even had the all you can eat buffet, I highly recommend, its definitely worth the money. Amazing animals to see too. You just need to wear comfortable footwear as there is alot of walking involved. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much 😊

Kimbolio C — Google review

We went in April 2022 which was perfect as temperatures were in the mid 20s and not too busy. Really enjoyed the day, well worth the visit and with the zoo it makes a full day out.

The W — Google review

If you're anywhere even remotely nearby, you must visit this place - such an unforgettable day! The scenery alone was jawdropping, and the actors and shows were just a step above. A really fantastic experience!!

Catherine C — Google review

Oasys Mini Hollywood is great value just for the experience of being on the set of the Spaghetti Westerns and the shows that they put on there. When you realise that they also have a Zoo/Animal Park there and that the prices for food and drink are really reasonable for such an attraction (€4 for an ice cold pint of lager and €2.70 for an Iced Tea), you won't be disappointed that you ventured out into the Spanish Desert! Well worth a visit for all ages... I'd take my kids and my parents next time! 👌🏼🤠👢

So fun! So realistic. Beautifully set up. Also the zoo and the swimming area were beautiful. Yes, the animal living areas can definately be bigger. With all the land around it, this must be an option, right? Though I think, if I read it well, they will be working on that in 2024. :-)Our son of 5, and we had a lovely day!

Chantal R — Google review

Visited here on 24 December 2023 after we left Fort Bravo just down the road. This place is more Hollywood style with professional looking actors, but we preferred the Fort Bravo cowboys. The cowboy show was a bit distant to difficult to see clearly what was going on. Great show nevertheless. The can can show not really our taste but the saloon was staffed by wonderful ladies who made great effort to please. The zoo has a great location in the hills making it feel like being in the Savannah. The parrot show was entertaining and the grounds lovely although some of the animals (wild boar) didn't look too content.

Meera L — Google review

Our 3rd visit in 20 years. There have been some noticeable changes over the years, with more still planned for the coming years. The park was very busy considering it was out of peak season. We were there from 10:45am until 4:30pm.Wild West show was awesome as ever, easily understandable no matter which language you speak. The zoo is always improving, Animals look great, although the animal section is up and down hills, which can be tiring. The bird show seemed short and a little lack luster, but the weather did turn very windy by 3pm, which is not ideal for flying birds.CanCan girls were not traditional like in the movies, but a more modern cowgirl approach, which was well presented.Tickets are a little cheaper if brought online in advance, like most places, but you still have to que up with walk-up customers to collect tickets. There should be different systems in place for online and walk-ups.

John S — Google review

What a great wild west experience. The building's were very authentic looking. I'm sure I remember the Sheriff's office from one of the westerns I've seen over the years. The gunfight was very enjoyable as well as the can can girls. The zoo area was interesting with steep up & down area's in some sections. Although, there was a train that took you up and down the steepest sections if you chose to use it.We had the all you can eat buffet which of a good overall quality. The only reasons for not giving the 5th star was:-1.To keep the streets in the western town authentic they were gravel/sand covered which would make access for wheelchair users difficult (unless you had an off road chair).2. Even if you pre book tickets you have to join the que with those paying on entry.

Chris S — Google review

A great way to spend the day.Make sure you see earlier show if you want to visit the zoo!Snacks and drinks can be bought inside. No need to book for the lunch option.

Martin W — Google review

Really enjoyed our day. Watched the gunfight , drank in the saloon to watch the cancan girls. Found the cinematic museum fascinating. And enjoyed walking around the animals. The large pool at the back of the animal area looked great, - we just didn't have time to take a dip. Loved it .

Janet W — Google review

Not a minute was wasted here. Great show outside and on stage, ladies and gentlemen performing, great applause! The realism of the place is perfect, hence hundreds of films directed here. The whole thing, together with the vehicle museum, the zoo, the desert that perfectly matches the scenery and all the buildings, create a fantastic atmosphere that you won't find anywhere in Europe!

Lukasz T — Google review

Great experience! We took our kids age ranges 2 to 6 and they loved it too. The western area and show was so well done and the zoo is very well maintained

Located in Almería, the Conjunto Monumental de la Alcazaba de Almería is an archaeological museum that features impressive structures and gardens from the 12th to 16th centuries. The fortress is a great place to visit with its protective stone walls and exhibits on history.

Magnificent castle, beautifully preserved, with lovely gardens and fountains. It offers spectacular views on the city and the port. There are some wending machines inside the castle with beverages, snacks and coffee to freshen up, and also public toilets. I definitely recommend the visit (you'll spend there a couple of hours). The entrance was free of charge.

Predrag P — Google review

Fantastic travel to the past of the Muslim architecture in Spain. There is a great. Work in progress to bring this fortress and palace to its original splendor. Free entrance. Great for kids

Joaquin R — Google review

Warning: There are a lot of steps up to the summit, some of these are slippery towards the road entrance. The climb is rewarded with some spectacular views of around Almería. It can be very hot here as there is little shading or seating areas. You can buy drinks from a machine near the summit. It can be very busy in the daytime as it is FREE entry. It is much under reconstruction and does spoil the visit somewhat.

Pablo M — Google review

A must see place when you visit Almería. Located just 10 minutes walk away from downtown, this is a beautiful fortress to visit. There has been a lot of work to recover the structure and gardens and once again you can experience its greatness. The flow of water throughout the property is impressive as well as its impressive views of the city. The entrance is free but my suggestion is to charge for it to maintain both the Alcazaba and San Cristobal.

Fabian N — Google review

Beautiful, didn’t expect such a monumental views but exceeded the expectations. Great place to have photo shoots and even movies if you can take permission. Can see the Spanish architecture clearly. Lot of greenery restoration is happening as well- must visit if you’re in Almería

Very much worth a visit. Its free and all you do is say how many in the group and what country you're from. They could easily charge and it be worth a visit! It's very interesting and offers lovely views of Almeria. There are buses that service the foot of it if you don't fancy the hike up the hill towards the entrance! Taxis are an option too

Simon R — Google review

Nice and well maintained fortress. Open from the morning until 9 pm in the off-season months. Free entry. Some small expositions in one part of the castle. Vending machines with snacks and toilets. Beautiful views of the whole Almería city.

Anezka P — Google review

I can't believe this is free entry. They didn't even ask for donations. Quite rough terrain and uphill/steps but really worth it. Some parts were closed as they are being repaired and reimagined.

N P — Google review

Free entrance. Super well kept and lovely garden... Not too much to see but very pretty :)

Barbara P — Google review

Great castle with free entry and continuous improvements and absolutely fabulous views so why only 4 stars? There are no refreshment areas, just a small room with self service machines and one set of toilets. It desperately needs more refreshment areas which surely would be a valuable source of income? There was a gift shop but that was closed and litter bins are a rarity. Some of the information boards have English translation but but all so a few more boards translated would be great. However overall a great day just carry plenty of water.

Castle in the process of being restored. Magnificent building but some steep climbs involved. When work completed, should be unmissable but well worth a visit now. And free to enter!

It has an amazing view over the city, and it is very interesting inside, very well preserved, and also very informative. Moreover, it is free, so it makes for a nice walk.

A nice historical and architectural tourist place to visit in Almeria.Interesting views for the town, port and gardens (at my pic)No access for wheelchairs and baby carriage, there are stairs! You can leave the baby carriage at the information point. No need to book a ticket, it's free!!!

Marta M — Google review

Neat looking castle and allegedly a lot of history. Unfortunately they close at 1800 which didn’t allow an opportunity to visit. Lots of construction going on so even when open some parts are still restricted.

Trenton W — Google review

Great fortress, free entry. This is not Alhambra, but the buildings themselves and fortifications and gardens are pretty close. Just missing the interiors of Alhambra. But they are working on restoration. Beautiful views from multiple vantage points, including the highest tower.

Brian K — Google review

Great place to visit, should have gone later as it was a light up for the 3 king’s celebration. Most of the original History has been lost due to earthquakes. Still grand to visit if not as good as the Alhambra.

Paul M — Google review

A fascinating old building with great views over Almeria. We spent about two hours wandering around the alcazaba and the other buildings on site. We didn’t take a guided tour but that is possible if that’s what you prefer. We were lucky with the weather and got some good photos of the building and over Almeria.

CHARLES A — Google review

The bright decoration of Almeria. Amazing view to the city! Free entrance! Must see location!

Oleksandr P — Google review

I am a huge Game of Thrones fan and to be where the Kingdom of Dorne was filmed was an amazing experience for me. Aside from that, the historical value and beauty of these buildings is definitely a sight not to miss. Be sure to wear shoes with a rubber sole, at times the stones can be slippery. This is not an ideal terrain for wheelchairs or baby carriages. The views from the gardens or buildings themselves are also amazing.

Michelle M — Google review

Fantastic museum attraction showcasing a beautiful 10th century Arabic fortress that also has the benefit of being free! It’s a huge complex with beautiful views of the city, gorgeous gardens and fountains and lots of detailed archeological exhibits throughout. As a fun bonus, there are a bunch of cats that live at the Alcazaba, most of which are very friendly! I was only about to spend about an hour there, but I could have easily stayed way longer! As a warning, this may not be the best attraction of you have mobility issues, and pathway up to the Alcazaba, as well as many of the internal staircases and walkways, are pretty steep and uneven - as is the case with most 10th century stone masonry. Skip the flip flops and wear sneakers/walking shoes for maximum enjoyment.

The Sinagoga del Agua, a 14th-century Jewish synagogue, has been unearthed in a real estate project. The property developer intended to build apartments but instead discovered the archaeological remains of the synagogue and rabbis house. Original masonry was used whenever possible for the sensitive re-creation of this fascinating historical site, which features a women's gallery, bodega with giant storage vessels and miqve (ritual bath).

Beautiful place, Isabel our guide was great and went out of her comfort to support non Spanish speakers at the tour.

Wow!! A magical place, full of history. A must-see in Úbeda. I could have done the tour twice. The guide explained the history and told us the stories of this place in a really interesting way. Highly recommend!!

Rachel D — Google review

This is a fascinating place to visit. Previously hidden synagogue and small houses discovered during building works and restored as well as they could. The guides are very friendly and informative. We have been twice and the option of an English explanation has never been mentioned but obviously that doesn't mean they don't do it! We are fine with Spanish but it may not suit some foreign visitors. Well worth visiting.

Amazing space and story! Well worth it and affordable

Sandi - — Google review

Interesting guided visit for €5 of a fairly recently rediscovered medieval synagogue, or so it is believed. Developers of three adjacent buildings in 2006 found a basem*nt with huge earthenware vases half sunk into the ground, all covered in sand and debris. Further excavations revealed a number of wells in adjacent cellars that were full of rubble, and a perfectly preserved large rectangular ceremonial bath down seven steps, all carved out of solid rock inside what must have been a prehistoric cave created by underground streams. Also a number of arches, columns and architectural features including a double prayer gallery as used by women in synagogues, above a central space that would have been used by men. Archaeologists concluded that during medieval and renaissance times this building had indeed been used as a clandestine synagogue during periods when the Jewish faith was persecuted in Spain.

Harry P — Google review

Most disappointed. We paid our entry fee. No audio guide. There was a spanish tour starting. We were obliged to join it. We were then told we could not proceed ahead of the tour, which was in spanish only, and taking 15-20 minutes per room. We left. We asked for our entry fee back. After consultation with the tour guide, this request was granted!!!! So we wasted 45 minutes and saw the 1st room only. What a ridiculous bunch of clowns!

Gary D — Google review

Stupid that it costs you more to order the tickets online than at the door. And no effort is done by the cassièrre / guide to speak anything else than Spanish. The French and English texts don't explain a lot, are quiet rubbish. The whole visit is done very speedy, you are not allowed to take your time to admire anything. Definitely, in those circ*mstances, not worth the money.

The Generalife is a beautiful and historic palace complex located in the Alhambra Park in Granada, Spain. The gardens and structures of the Generalife are an exquisite oasis in the summertime, and are popular with tourists. One of the main attractions of the Generalife gardens is their beautiful pools, courtyards, and flowerbeds.

Generalife is a very beautifully designed and well maintained garden. You can see the ingenuity of the gardeners from the combination of various tall trees, bushes and flowers, among the fountains, ponds and small yards. Although it is always flooded with tourists and it can be really difficult to take good pictures, still it’s very worth the visit.

Sherry Z — Google review

Immense. I have no idea why the place I’d named Generalife. Sounds like a crackpot pill being sold my a Trump pilot fish on Fox News in America. I think it refers to the grounds of Alhambra. I enjoyed the grounds more than the castles and museums. I spend summers riding through Europe on motorcycles and I’ve overdosed on castles and museums. I love the traveling and the natural beauty. The grounds are pretty nice. Formal. It would be nicer if they would identify the more spectacular plantings. In Spanish, English, and the proper botanical Latin. When I see places like this I become uncomfortably and acutely aware that all great empires were built on slave labor. It all winds up in and as museums.

Robert L — Google review

Nice gardens but it is too crowded to enjoy, even with drizzle on the day packed with people trying to all get the same picture and just standing still in entrance ways to get their pictures. Least favourite part of the Alhambra.

J. P — Google review

This shouldn't be missed if you are visiting the Alhambra in Granada! This gorgeous buildimg and gardens are a perfect destination to learn about the Islamic past of southern Spain. If you can visit in the spring, the gardens are spectacular!

Rebecca L — Google review

Light and airy and sitting on top of a hill, this beautiful palace has some of the most memorable gardens that I've seen anywhere. Elegantly understated, with simple but gorgeous water fountains and water running literally all over the place, this summer palace overlooks the older palaces of Alhambra, the Albaicin neighborhood and the valley beyond. The perspectives are to die for. No matter in which direction you look, there will be an infinite number of beautiful shots waiting for you. While the Nasrid Palaces will impress you with architecture, this palace's gardens are its main attraction. Choose a beautiful sunny day. Try to get there early in the morning - it opens at 8:30 - to avoid the huge crowds, especially during the summer.

Georges Y — Google review

Free entrance, I recommend going there separate from Alhambra or after all palaces with the paid entrance. In March there weren't too many plants so as a garden it wasn't impressive. It does have a few nice views over the city but I'm glad I didn't have to pay for entrance, expected much more from it.

Natalia L — Google review

IMPORTANT: There are quite a few checks for passport and your ticket in this area. Make sure to bring these with you or else they’ll deny you entrance. Would highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance.A beautiful garden amongst the old fortresses and walls. I would advise to visit these areas in the earlier parts of the day, ideally before noon as that’s when the rush begins to settle in. I had a great time with my family and this part of the tour took about an hour to complete with lots of photography spots along the way.

Alhambra is a Spanish tourist attraction that is known for its stunning Moorish architecture and lush gardens. The complex was originally built in the 9th century by the Moors, and has been extensively rebuilt over the years by various rulers. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

One of the most beautiful places to see in Spain, we had a tour guide and we ate a lovely restaurant overlooking the town, taking in the sun and view. The architecture was breathtaking and the history was rich. We found out there is a hotel part of the palace you could actually stay at, the next time we are in Spain we will have to do that. Simply amazing.

Beautiful in every area you walk. Shows how the Muslims architecture was there most advanced at the time. Detailed writings carved beautifully throughout the palace. The gardens were amazing to walk through and the fountains were very nice with water running through the marble floors which was like cooled floors! I would go there again and I'm sure to see new things.

Sherif L — Google review

Truly beautiful with water gardens, fountains, courtyards, mosaics and stunning architecture. Incredibly well preserved and accessible albeit located on a hill so quite physically challenging for those with disabilities. parking is locally available and close to the site and the guided tours are well worth considering as there is so much history. Takes a minimum of 3-4 hours to enjoy fully so plan a full day and enjoy some lunch break in-between. Mid summer can be very hot and there is limited shade so be sure to use sunblock and consider taking a parasol.

Amir K — Google review

Not only is this one of the most beautiful human made structures I have ever seen. It is also a remarkable heritage that holds century old stories through several civilizations. I personally loved the architectural richness and the visual representations representations and ancient (sacred geometry like) patterns sculpted in the walls.Book your tickets in advance for a chance to visit this place that is just out of this world! It may feel a bit busy in some areas, so if you don’t like crowds, try to go early in the morning.

This is those kind of places that will leave you amazed in pretty much in love. The rich history, the beautiful gardens, the architecture of the palaces and all the buildings, the views from the city, all was just perfect. I recommend taking your time to visit all of it, listen to all the audio guide of everything, enjoy the views and the walk through it and most importantly to buy your tickets with a lot of time ahead, they get sold out extremely easily for even months ahead. If you are visiting with a guided tour or big group then you shouldn't have any problem, but if you are visiting by yourself or without any tour group then buy the tickets with enough time.

Julian C — Google review

I'm surprised that anyone would have anything negative to say about this place. Yes, you have to reserve your tickets ahead of time and yes they will check your ticket at several checkpoints throughout the visit, but this place is absolutely MAJESTIC. It is one of the most beautiful displays of art and architecture I have ever seen. The structure and art are pristinely kept and the visit is very organized. I recommend reading about it before your visit you can truly understand the value of this building and everything about it. Rich in history, rich in details, rich in everything. Don't miss it. Reserve your tickets at least one month in advance, but you can do it way ahead of that. What a beautiful experience!

Adriana P — Google review

We booked our tickets 3 months in advance as the visits are limited, and only visits with a tour guide are allowed. It's a fascinating, magical place, full of history, considered one of the most famous monuments of Islamic architecture and one of the best-preserved palaces in the historic Islamic world, in addition to containing notable examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture. It’s good to see but does it worth all the trouble to get in, I’m not sure. Our tour guide was funny and enthusiastic, yet he persisted in naming it the most beautiful spot on earth, revealing at the end that he didn't see elsewhere.

This is one my most favorite place in the whole world. Islamic history of Spain is in full display and well maintained. Had a great guide (Maria Jose Suarez), she is very knowledgeable and great with kids. Make sure and buy tickets before arriving so as not be disappointed. It was our second visit in 10 years. We found it equally beautiful and impressive. However, this time proved to be much busier than 10 years ago. I still think it is worth the wait in the queue if you are interested in the design, architecture, and history. Just remember to book your time slot in advance and check the weather as well.

One of the most visited sites in Spain. If you ever visit Granada then you have to see this place. The Islamic architecture is so well preserved. You can see the view of the city from this place. It’s so green even in winter. Highly recommended

Muhammad T — Google review

Such a really cool place and experience. Absoutely worth every penny. PS. we were able to make reservation on the day of for about 40 Euros each. A guy at the entrance told me to keep refreshing until I could do it. Sure enough, after about 35 minutes of trying, was able to find enough tickets for our group. Other places and sites will try selling you $100 plus per person to get in last minute and tell you it is sold out. Depends where you are at financially, but for $150 totally worth sitting on a lovely bench and refreshing on my phone until I could purchase the tickets.Another note regarding the places- you can't bring in any strollers. So I HIGHLY recommend bringing an ergo baby or sling, even for older kids. They will also ask you to keep backpacks in the front, so try to check in as much as possible in the locker area. Good news is the locker area will secure your belongings for you for free and give you tags to pick up. I wish i had taken time to offload a little more before going into the palaces. That said, totally worth it.And regardless, a lot of people on blogs mentioned that this was difficult with strollers, but we had a double stroller and found that most of it was really easily accessible. And the one or two parts that weren't one of us could just go ahead and then come back for the other one to go get a chance. It worked out really well with our baby and toddler.Anyway, can't recommend enough, It's not overrated.

Very unique feeling. We bought tickets 2 months ago. We had a wonderful day here. February feels like July in Holland! Perfect weather! Read more about this unique palace before visiting. I read Washington Irving’s book about Alhambra which is very interesting.

RS S — Google review

Absolutely breathtaking! We enjoyed the entire experience at La Alhambra. We arrived about 15 minutes before our scheduled entry-time for the Nasrid Palaces, at 8:45 on a rainy Tuesday morning, and waited about 5-10 minutes in line to enter. We got amazing pictures because it was not crowded at all (maybe partly due to the weather too). We spent about 2 hours there but could have spent more! One thing to prepare for if you are taking the walking path up to La Alhambra is that it is a very steep path! Such an amazing historical site.

For a breathtaking view of the Alhambra, make sure to hike up to the Mirador de San Nicolas. This lookout point is famous for capturing classic sunset shots of the palace overlooking a wooded hilltop with Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance. However, it can get crowded with tourists and buskers, so be aware of pickpockets and bag-snatchers.

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

The Catedral de Jaén is a grand baroque-Renaissance cathedral that houses the renowned Santo Rostro relic and a museum of religious art. It was constructed between 1540 and 1724, replacing a deteriorating Gothic cathedral which had been built on the site of an old mosque. The cathedral's design, crafted by Andres de Vandelvira and Pedro, his father, was deemed perfect and became a model for many major churches in Latin America.

Exquisite cathedral. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit.

Laurel — Google review

If I'd been wandering solo this would have been a ten minute visit but our guide, Patricia, was fabulous so the visit was extended to an hour by learning about the bishop who remained unburied for 500 years, the choir seats and the council being snubbed, the balconies around the outside, the bombing of Jaen in the Spanish Civil War and the face of Christ relic. It is an impressive and well maintained building but there is very little in the way of information unless you have an audio guide.

Marcus H — Google review

Architecturally and artistically this cathedral is of unusual purity, giving the place a very harmonious feel. The church visibly plays, unlike so many others, also an active role in the life of the community, so it feels alive and not just like a museum of a bygone area of Christian faith. Highly recommended.

Peter P — Google review

Nice visit of this Cathedral that you can visit from lower levels to upper galleries! Must be seen

Philippe P — Google review

A cathedral that portrays the wealth and in my eyes ego of the church.Impressive, amazing architecture and art but for me not a house of worship.

Christoffel S — Google review

Impressive Renaissance architecture. I love the 3D glasses having the virtual tour. Very nice exhibitions as well upstairs.

Please do visit the Cathedral. Very very interesting. Tgey are taken good care of the cathedral. She is a huge building more the 50 meters high..

Stunning Cathedral and well worth the 7 euro entry fee which also includes a self guided audio.

An interesting cathedral, with plenty of religious art in the accompanying museum

Tom ( — Google review

An excellent place to visit. Tons of local history. A very nice bit of virtual reality headsets at start of the tour.

Frank G — Google review

Fantastic breathtaking cathedral! Also the VR headset available at the entrance was amazing giving birds eye views of the cathedral! An absolute must! Also to see it at night recommend making the trip up to the Parador and walking along the path to the edge underneath the white cross...

Diane R — Google review

This is a must see whilst in Jaen- it’s such a stunning cathedral. This cathedral is in my top three cathedrals of the world which I would have not have expected given the size of Jaen. It’s not only stunning but different from my cathedrals of its era. The architecture of the roof is unusual and stunning in my opinion. You can visit three levels. In the basem*nt it’s like a museum and the upstairs galleries have lovely views looking down on the inside of the church. The audio guide was a bit over-detailed for me so I gave up on it and just read the signs which were in Spanish and English.Visited on a hot Saturday in July and it was virtually empty.Outside the cathedral is a lovely square with seats to sit in the shade and admire the front of the building.

Sue V — Google review

This place is huge! And that makes it impressive in the first place. The chapels, colourful.Don't forget to take the VR tour and look around you while flying over the roof and inside the Cathedral

Appie V — Google review

Quite an incredible place and absolutely worth a visit.

Sieglinde C — Google review

What to say about the beauty of this Cathedral.Such a great architecture and very unique style and design. For me it can be ranked in the top of Europe. Its so great!!!

Ermest S — Google review

Pleasantly surprised by the cathedral. Was expecting yet another baroque overwrought building and instead found a very elegant neoclassical arrangement (very renaissance themed). Same couldn't be said about the altars though, where the overbearing Spanish baroque reigns. The audio guide is quite useful (you have to pay to visit the cathedral) and everything feels a tad too Catholic (if you're not one).

Pablo C — Google review

We have spent a month touring Spain and done our fair share of Spanish cathedrals. We were a bit reluctant to visit this Cathedral just because we really have overdone cathedrals in the past month. Cathedral overload has been succeeded. However every Spanish cathedral is special and different in its own way and Jaén is no different.Jaén has some amazing art. The cathedral itself is stunning. Very tall and light. We were lucky in that the organist was practising when we were there. The organ here is amazing - and I have heard a few. It was such a privilege and very inspiring just to sit and listen to this incredible musician in such an amazing building. The audio guide is a bit dry - as must cathedral audio guides are.So even if you are approaching cathedral overload - go and visit Jaén cathedral

The Nerja Caves are a spectacular cave complex located 4km east of Nerja in the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain. The caves were not discovered until five local men stumbled across an opening in 1959, and they are now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Costa del Sol. The cave complex is filled with fascinating rock formations, subtle shifting colors, and stalactites and stalagmites that evoke the look and feel of a submerged cathedral.

Amazing place 🤩A fabulously beautiful cave. I have never seen such a great cave hall before. Totally monumental rock formations. Like from some fairy tale. Perfect place for some fantasy movie. I highly recommend visiting this cave. Don't miss it.

Raff T — Google review

The caves are impressive. Everything is built up so it is as comfortable as possible. Gift shop was nice, parking was free at least when we went. My only complaint is it is not accessible ♿

Tatiana P — Google review

Very interesting site. Crowds limited and well managed allowing room to move at your own pace, take photos and listen to the commentary. Download the audio guide prior to arrival to save others waiting behind while you sort out your issues. Make time for the virtual reality experience. It is short but very entertaining. Beat the crowd on the tourist train by booking an early spot.

M J — Google review

Makes for an excellent half day visit! The caves are fantastic - huge, and with a very interesting tale of how they were found and of the people who lived there in prehistoric times. A tour of the caves will take about 40 minutes to an hour, but there is quite a bit more to see and do. The virtual reality show is definitely not to be missed!

Malcolm C — Google review

Totally fascinating caverns! It's a good idea to ensure you have the audio guide downloaded & ready to play. There are many steps, but there are some benches to rest along the way. It's quite warm deep in the cave so you won't need your coats.

Christine S — Google review

Cueva de Nerja is not just a cave. It is a complex where you can have a good time, including a picnic area and a children's playground, a museum and a VR room. Large parking lot - price 2 euros (pay with coins when leaving)The cave is very well equipped, safe and very cool. You need to download the audio guide and listen to the information on your own according to the numbers that are clearly visible in each hall.Entrance costs 17.50€ at the entrance or 15.50€ when you buy online. It is possible to visit the cave for free... every day there are 60 free tickets for 09.30. Tickets must be ordered on the website and received 48 hours before visiting the cave. This ticket includes a visit to the Nerja Museum, which is located in the center of Nerja

Oleksandr P — Google review

What an amazing place!Beautiful deep caverns full of surprises! The chambers get more stunning as you walk through. It's worth a visit to the VR area. This really enhanced our visit, and the restaurant was super, too.It was quite busy so would recommend booking in advance.

Samantha R — Google review

Loved our experience here. I had never visited a cave like this and was really impressed. Make sure the audio guide is downloaded to your phone before in full because there won't be wifi in the cave! They try to take photos of you and a tourist item and have you buy it at the end. If you don't want it anyway just refuse the photo at the beginning

Kara — Google review

By far one of the most exciting place I've ever been. It's a giant natural cave completely hidden from the ground.Highly recommended. There wasn't so much queue but tickets can be purchased online.Remember to download the guide before getting down the cave. obviously there is no internet connection down there. Not for people with disability.

Andrea P — Google review

I had a decent experience. The cave formations were interesting to see, but I felt that the lack of storytelling detracted from the overall experience. It was a bit difficult to fully appreciate the history and significance of the cave. That being said, the natural beauty of the cave formations is still worth seeing and they are magnificent, and if you're in the area it's worth a visit. However, if you're looking for an immersive and educational experience, I think there still needs a lot to be done.

Linh P — Google review

Awe inspiring caves - gigantic structures, better than expected. not accessible for wheelchairs or buggies. Lots of steps.Nice gift shop and restaurant with great views afterwards.Train to and from the caves - timings and stops online were incorrect. Could have more accessible stops on route.

Sophie T — Google review

Absolutely must see if on a visit to Malaga, the caves are astonishing, photos can't capture the intricate beauty of this natural work of art. The virtual reality room experience was amazing. Toilet facilities are clean and the view from the restaurant located on site is breathtaking.

Priti L — Google review

Too long queues. Got train up and back €4. Too far down obviously have to climb back up very steep steps. Lots of people sweating like a fat kid at an all you can eat buffet. No mention of this for us "young uns" . In my opinion €18 entrance fee is far too much. The sales person said" including the train there and back and doing the caves should take 2 hours. Train ride 15 minutes, inside Cave no more than 7 minutes. Train ride back 15 minutes.

Michael L — Google review

The Cueva de Nerja caves are known for their stunning stalactites and stalagmites, as well as the prehistoric cave paintings. It serves as a popular tourist attraction and a site of scientific interest. Plenty parking in February and the caves were warm enough lots steps to climb so won’t be suitable for those with breathing issues and mobility issues - there is a virtual reality show in a building to right of ticket booth please don’t miss this absolutely amazing show you actually feel your taken back 40000 years I personally wish I’d gone into this before entering caves as it gave you a better understanding of the actual caves - beautiful restaurant botanical gardens and toilets - little picnic area in gardens the entrance fee is excellent value at approximately 17 euros

Debz X — Google review

Great place to bring your family. There are plenty of things for kids to do beyond just the cave, which was interesting. The second chamber is pretty cool. But there is also a restaurant and activities for the whole family. It was very clean and well organized.

Christopher A — Google review

A must visit attraction when you're nearby. A spectacular cave with plenty of unique elements. What's interesting is that this cave was discovered not so long time ago. It also has very nice facilities, including a playground for kids (probably the best one in Nerja).

Micha? R — Google review

Simply stunning and awe inspiring place to see. The huge rock formations have to be seen to be believed. And to think it took millions of years to look like that. Audio guide or no audio guide it’s a fabulous photo opportunity. Acres of space to move and well lit. Well priced too. And you get a nice photo to take away. Nice walking distance to Nerja.

Paul A — Google review

Wasn't expecting this at all!! You really go deeper and deeper into the cave and it's fascinating to stare at the cave structure. For me, I really enjoyed it but I did have to adjust for the first 5 minutes because I felt somewhat claustrophobic, however, once you do down further there is a lot of space. Do not do this if you have any issue with stairs, you will be walking down and up a lot of stairs. It's also quiet hot in the cave so dress appropriately.

Sinead K — Google review

Absolutely incredible sight to see! I was hesitant in going as I thought a cave system wouldn’t be as fun but I was completely wrong. The cave is massive and is really beautiful, a lot of history in these caves since they were discovered and the surrounding areas (Botanical Garden and mountain trails) make it even better. If you are staying in Nerja or even south Spain please go and visit as you won’t be disappointed!

Jago C — Google review

There's no doubt that the caves are impressive. It's worth the trip just to look at the stalagmites, stalactites, and various other rock formations. If you expect to see cave paintings, you will be disappointed. The caves have a cyanobacterium that grows in the presence of artificial light that would be necessary to see the paintings. Were they to light the paintings, the bacterium would destroy them.

Rod T — Google review

The caves of Nerja are a must see while visiting. They are super impressive and I can definitely recommend getting the audio guide as you will hear the history of the place. It has a lot of steps and you will go down quite a bit. I recommend buying the tickets online and in advance. We looked the tickets up online and they cost €15.00, you have to book a timeslot though. We didn’t do that and payed for them directly at the counter and paid €17.00 per ticket. Therefore, I recommend buying them online.

Cheyenne B — Google review

Average €80 entrance price. It was a beautiful cave but I'm not sure it was worth the price for a family of 5. They charge additional for the photo they take just before you enter. But the grounds are kept very well. They have facilities inside the area. Beautiful lighting inside for viewing geological structures. It took maybe 20 minutes to see the whole thing.

Marcelina — Google review

It was a really great place to visit. Go early to avoid the big queues. It's not that suitable for the infirm as there are many stairs in the cave. The restaurant is hopeless. They take ages to serve you. It's still certainly worth a visit to the caves, though.

Matt — Google review

Interesting place. All well arranged. We were in Feb24 and there was no crowds.Enjoyed the visit which took c.a. 1,5hr.Audio guide tour works good in Polish

F H — Google review

Overrated, overcrowded, and overpriced!Standing in a que for over an hour in a cave! And on top of that, the personel had the biggest attitude. When taking a picture, we've got rudely being told to move on and if not obeyed to be kicked out.I expected more.. See the pictures of what to expect.

Alexander S — Google review

Absolutely amazing experience! Booked tickets online that included the train ride from Nerja. Go early in the day if you also want to do the 2 hour hike from the park. We didn’t have time,as there was only one last return train on the schedule at the end of the day. The caves are spectacular. Be sure to download the app so you can listen to the podcast! Really incredible to be underground for so long and see so much!

Judy B — Google review

It's one of the prettiest caves I have seen and a great place to visit during the stay in Nerja, however I felt like there were a little too many human changes made to the natural structure of the cave. I prefer a little less lights, stairs, tiles and wooden railings.

Ewa P — Google review

Amazing place, it is worth a visit!I wasn't expecting the incredible cave with the breathtaking views inside.Well well-organized and you must download the app to listen to the information when you are inside.

Fernanda P — Google review

Absolutely fantastic trip. The caves are an amazing sight to see. Well worth every penny. Lots of up hill and down hill walking so be prepared.

Caroline R — Google review

A true natural wonder. A must to visit if you are in Nerja. Be aware that wheel chair access is not possible and those having a hard time walking up stairs might have to think twice about a visit.

Er I — Google review

The caves are interesting. I could not get the audio guide to use my Bluetooth headphones so I had to broadcast it to the people around me. Not good. Also be aware that if you don't like heights then you might have a bit of a problem. There are several places with 30m drops.

Simon K — Google review

Very unique and interesting place to visit if you are in the region. They have a little but expensive coffee shop and a great playground for the kids. There is nice little train from Nerja to the caves.

Fortress

Museums

Alcazaba is a Moorish-style medieval fortress overlooking the sea, with lush, fountain-filled gardens. It's been extensively restored and gives a taste of life in the 11th century.

You must not miss this visit. If you want to take interior photos without a lot of people in them, it is better to come in the morning at the opening.Beautiful space with little gardens, squirrels and pigeons nested in the walls. Very nice view overlooking the sea and the city. It has a lot off little things similar to Alhambra.

A very wonderful and suggestive place.I really loved the place! It is equally interesting and intriguing in each of its parts. The outside gives you a beautiful view on the city while the internal part is full of cozy and wonderful gardens where to walk and relax immersed in history.Very amazing place

Jacopo C — Google review

You got to climb a lot at stairs but it is worth it. Wonderful gardens and impressive view points awaits you. Get a cold beer on the top, it’s 2,5 euros and comes with shade and a view.

Morten A — Google review

Very enjoyable visit for just €3.50 with a QR code on display inside the entrance you can access the multilingual audio tour, this makes for an easy 1 hour 30 mins self guided tour of one of Málaga’s dominant historical structures. Free Audio tour is a must to enhance your visit all Complimented by great views of the city and port.

Mike O — Google review

Very interesting palace/fortification built in the years of Muslim occupation in Spain. The beautiful architecture and gardens are well worth the visit. The admission price is insignificant compared to the sights to be seen. Excellently maintained but there is only so much that can be done for accessibility. Lots of steps and some are steep to see everything. Ramp and/or elevator at both entrances.

Lawrence B — Google review

It was such a wonderful place, with many tour guides hosting groups of people. Remember to bring some headphones that connect to your phone, as they have audio terminals available.I also appreciated their price scaling for situations of importance (lower income, elderly, etc). I went with the regular, measley €5,50 for 48 hours I believe.A fun aside, there was a couple taking their wedding photos there!I completely recommend the visit and you will see Málaga as it was meant to be seen! Also, they have easy to use self help kiosks to buy your tickets. Didn't take long at all.

The Alcazaba of Málaga is a beautiful and historic fortress that offers stunning views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. I highly recommend visiting the Alcazaba, especially on Sundays when it is free to enter from 2pm.The views from the Alcazaba are simply breathtaking. You can see the entire city of Málaga spread out below you, as well as the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. The fortress itself is also very impressive, with its well-preserved walls and towers.I would recommend taking the long walk up to the Alcazaba, as it is well worth it. The walk itself is quite enjoyable, as you pass through narrow streets and alleyways lined with shops and restaurants. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the city and the sea.The Alcazaba is a must-see for anyone visiting Málaga. It is a beautiful and historic place with amazing views. I highly recommend visiting on Sundays when it is free to enter from 2pm.Here are some additional tips for visiting the Alcazaba:* Wear comfortable shoes, as the walk up to the fortress can be quite steep.* Bring water, especially if you are visiting on a hot day.* Be sure to visit the towers for the best views.* Take your time and enjoy the walk through the fortress.* If you are visiting on a Sunday, be sure to arrive early to avoid the crowds.

This is a fantastic place well managed. It's a fresh place with lots of vegetation, beautiful pieces of building and old stones mixed to modern repairs. You can cross road with some squirrels here who are not really afraid if you are calm and gentle.Good photo souvenir.

Geoffrey C — Google review

Such a great experience!I suggest to pay a visit on Sunday’s, specifically after 2pm as the entrance is free during the afternoon. The monument is amazing, perfectly restored and well kept. The hike is often upwards, so bring some water with you.

The castle is very impressive and has a very beautiful old architecture. If you walk through the castle with the audio guide, you will learn a lot about the history of the castle but also about Malaga. Once you have made your way to the top, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view. Admission is absolutely worth it and I highly recommend a visit.

Finn A — Google review

Great castle. Interesting visit. The Palace is beautiful, though I'm not sure how much is original. Lovely gardens and patios. Thank goodness for the lift up.Free on Sunday after 2 p.m.

Louise — Google review

Very nice and well preserved fortress. Really pretty architecture and it wasn't too busy on a friday morning.Nice cafe to the side of the fortress too.You can buy tickets at the door via a ticket machine.

Coco — Google review

Not really authentic. Most buildings were lost to time, replaced by houses, and rebuilt to (what they taught was) the original shape only recently. And the views are obviously not as good as from the upper Gibralfaro castle. But it's so cheap, and the audio guide is full of nice historical information, it's still worth the visit. Don't miss the audio guide QR code just after the entrance! FYI, the two castles are connected, but you cannot use the connection, and have to go around.

Tom H — Google review

Nice castle to visit. Went on a "small group tour" from our cruise ship. When we got to the castle it was very crowded. The structure is in good shape and it is worth seeing. There is not a lot of information or historical pieces to see there.

Dennis S — Google review

Fantastic, if very touristy, site that is super cheap to enter. I didn’t get the audioguide (virtual only so you’re SOL if you have no data on your phone, or like me, it just didn’t connect). I still enjoyed regardless walking around the structures and the gorgeous views from the ramparts. Spent about an hour. Buy a ticket online to cut the queue.

Jennifer S — Google review

It is great place to see and visit. Views are stunning and it is totally worth it.There is audio guide which you can connect to with the phone by scanning the QR code. You can really enjoy walking around and exploring and listening to the history. Views are amazing especially if you visit close to sunset. Also there is a bar so you can refresh and make a stop during sightseeing.Definitely worth to explore and you can easily spend half of the day walking around.Tickets can be bought on the machine at the entrance. Can be combined with the Gibralfaro castle visit.

Anamarija Č — Google review

Interesting and inexpensive if combined with the castle. Only issue is that there should be an exit to continue on to the castle and not go all the way back down to go back up. Well preserved and great views

David P — Google review

Very fun place to visit and less busy than expected. Very peaceful place with good views for those who don't want to climb up to the castle (Very tiring in the heat). Price of entry (2,50 € for both venues for students) was an absolute bargain.

Jude P — Google review

Beautiful place all the buildings are well preserved except for the exterior walls but its normal. The views are amazing and breathtaking. All the plants are vibrantly green and amazing, a lot of the flowers have a very pleasant smell also. The pigeons are cute and pretty, and somehow there is not a lot of waste from them which is good. You need to get ready for a lot of walking, but it's definitely worth it.

Grzegorz G — Google review

It was easy to buy tickets on arrival. There are various concessions, plus they also have free days on the weekend. There are plenty of steps and uphill walk so be prepared.Beautiful inside. So much history. And there is also a lift on the road which is at the side of the ramp.It is signposted.Tickets are also available at the lift entrance so need to climb up to the main entrance, buy tickets and walk all the down and to the side to get the lift.

Capt A — Google review

Impressive old castle in a very good condition. For 5.5 euro you can by directly a combo ticket which is valid for the whole complex. No need for reservation in advance. Audio guide is available in different languages directly through a QR Code.

T. B — Google review

Really interesting and inspiring place to visit. Interesting both for adults and children and teens. We’ve visited only one (lower level) part of the castle and spent there about 2 hours. Incredible views are opened up from this castle.

Denis G — Google review

A tremendous evocation of what the original fort/palace must have been like (I understand that it is partially restored). The palatial elements at the top of the hill (beautiful courtyards with pools and planting) contrast with the fort-like elements lower down. Great views of the city, port and mountains all round. We took the lift to the top (from around the side) and worked our way down. A beautifully sited cafe/bar quite close to the main gatehouse (again with great views). The combined admission price with the Gibralfaro castle (€5.50) is a steal!

Castle is pretty nice but prepare your feet’s:). There is many stairs and also you must walk up to hill. But there is so many nice spots to have nice pictures. Thera are nice gardens with fountains and water strings. Enjoy your stay a relax in gardens or inside house to get more energy.

Cool, but I agree that if you have been to the Alhambra it won't wow you the same way. You can walk up the back road for free if the views are what you're after - and they are beautiful. However I think it would've been better if I'd gotten a guide or an audio tour, so that may be my fault. :)

Ruth M — Google review

Visiting the castle was nothing short of enchanting. The grandeur of its towering walls and the rich history embedded in every stone made for a captivating journey through time. The breathtaking panoramic views from the castle grounds were a highlight, offering a glimpse into a bygone era. Impeccably preserved, the castle exudes a sense of mystery and majesty. A truly awe-inspiring experience that transports you to a world of medieval splendor.

J'ai aimé visiter ce château, ce lieu est beau, vert grâce à ses nombreuses plantes, la vue est superbe et les cours d'eau rafraichissent le tout. Je recommande vivement ! À ne pas louper si vous passez à Malaga !(Translated by Google)I liked visiting this castle, this place is beautiful, green thanks to its many plants, the view is superb and the waterways refresh everything. I highly recommend ! Not to be missed if you are in Malaga!

Great views, vendors with food or jewellery located around the castle but you need to prepare your feet because it's a very long walk I would really recommend not having a heavy bag/backpack because it's going to weigh you down and make the walk very uncomfortable if you walk the whole distance but if you walk a short distance it's ok, the seagulls are alright with you taking photos of them they might glance at you strangely ( like I've captured in the photos) but apart from that they are chillThank you for reading this review I appreciate it

Alcazaba with the roman theater is a perfect place to walk around in February. The weather was amazing with stunning view. They have free audio guide for the people with interest in history and architecture. At the top of this place they have the palace now converted to a museum. Overall takes 2-3 hours to walk around the places.

Arkajyoti B — Google review

Amazing view, but the building itself is very disappointing.I recommend climbing to the mountain top, but not paying money for the building entrance. Here are some photos from the mountain 🗻🌋🧗🚵⛰️🏔️

Andreas S — Google review

Very cool historical site with gorgeous views of city and interesting architecture. Scan the free audio tour with €3.50 ticket price to enhance the experience. Afterwards, walk up the path beside the Alcazaba to see the castle but I don’t recommend buying an entrance ticket as much of the castle wall walks were closed and you get same views on the walk up. Toilets are onsite. BONUS: the Alcazaba has a very cute pizzeria on site to enjoy with sweeping city views.

Michaela S — Google review

Amazing experience. I went on a solo trip and I had a great time! Better if you bring a selfie stick 😁 I was surprised to see that it was a free entry (I went on a Sunday in January). The weather was just so nice, maybe avoid going during the summer as you will have to walk and climb up to the top.

Arianna C — Google review

Visited in April and it was pretty busy. Very nice historical place. Has multiple indoor expositions of artifacts, a beautiful walk around the gardens and premises and lovely sights of the city below. For me it was worth the walk up.You can buy tickets to visit both Alcazaba and Gibralfaro at the start, or buy separate tickets at the entrance to Gibralfaro.Paid 5.5 euro/adult for Alcazaba+Gibralfaro, was free for our 5 y.o.

Cristian I — Google review

Fortress Alcazaba was built during Arabic khalifat. Nice place. Very well maintained. With many gardens and palaces. Nice view of the centre of the city of Málaga. Just in short walking distance from the city centre. Tickets are very cheap and can be merged with an entrance to the castle of Gibralfaro. I really enjoyed visiting this place and highly recommended it to you.

Museum

Art Museums

This world famous museum in Málaga, home to more than 200 pieces of art by famed artist Pablo Picasso, opened its doors to the public in 2003. The permanent collection features paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints from Picasso's early years through to his later works. Programs throughout the year offer visitors a range of interesting cultural activities such as seminars, conferences, visual arts exhibitions and classical music concerts.

A popular museum with different formats of artworks from Picasso. It’s a tourist hotspot so there was a long line outside the museum. I also had to wait to see each of the artwork after people moved on to the next one.The numerous collections could depict the career of Picasso. The audio guide, with a variety of languages, was helpful for me to learn about the historical, social context of the artworks. After the main exhibit, there’s also a exhibit to compare and explain how Picasso’s works could relate to some old artists.I spent a total of 1.5 hours to finish the museum, in which I listened to every single of the audio clip. You could carry your bag in the museum, but it’s required to carry it in front of your chest.Price: €7

KaLong T — Google review

A beautiful museum with lots of art from Pablo Picasso. Recommend to buy the tickets before due to long waiting time. Biggest pieces from Picasso are here in the museum. But the museum could be a bit bigger. Audio guide is included and in many languages available.

Nesam H — Google review

For any art lover, I would totally recommend this place. The way they have designed the exhibitions and the house selected tell a good story of Picasso life. And the world knows Picasso mostly for his cubist paintings, but I was really enchanted by his sculpture work, specially with metal. It was good. Recommend to take a ticket online (there’s a separate but very long queues) and they don’t allow water from outside, which is fair. But they should provide some water. The museum cafe is a joke with 500 ml bottle for 2 Euros.

Deepti M — Google review

We got a bit lucky time wise. Arriving at the museum around 1 1/2 hours before closing the line was only a 10 minute wait. They offer a free audio guide. Well organized and some art works I had not seen before. In the little garden / seating area off the coffee shop there were a group of wild parrots bathing and squaking at each other. Nice to see.

Paul D — Google review

Great experience, an interesting museum, a must visit for all art lovers. Located in a palace from 16th century in the middle of the Old town.Collection offers good insight into Picasso's evolution. Good audio guide or you can download a free museum app. Tickets from 9€ but recommend to buy a combine ticket for both exhibitions.Free on Sundays afternoon.

Blichar P — Google review

Housed in an old palace in the old town. A relatively small collection of works that were bequeathed by Picasso's daughter in law. Mostly minor pieces from each stage of Picasso's development, though with a strong selection of late paintings from the 50s and 60s. Not in the same league as the phenomenal collections in Paris and Barcelona, but worth a visit if you have a spare hour. Recommend buying an advance ticket online to skip the queues...

Philip H — Google review

The Picasso Museum in Malaga is a fantastic experience, even if you're not an art expert. The diverse collection, informative guides, and accessible presentation make it enjoyable for all. Picasso's art comes to life, and the historic building adds to the charm. Don't miss it!

Michel P — Google review

Booked on line, had to queue as we got there 20 minutes early. On line queue was shorter than those buying the ticket on the day. We did get in at the allocated time. Free audio guide. Fantastic building and setting for a museum. 19 euro for 2 people. We are not big art lovers, but we did enjoy the Picasso Museum in his home town. Don't forget you can also visit his birth place which is only a few minutes walk away from the museum(3 euro entry)

L C — Google review

Let’s start with the most important. Picasso exhibition was (temporarily) closed during out visit! So we were able just to see a few of Picasso’s pictures. This is a reason for 3 stars only. Otherwise I would rate with 5*.We really liked the museum built nicely into an anciant house. The exhibition area is spaceous, clean and well-lighted. Unfortunately, we could see mostly pieces of art inspirated by Picass, as the permanet exhibition was closed due to reconstruction. There is also a coffeshop, garden and 2 shops with books and souveniers. Downstairs you can see ancient ruins. The toillets are downstairs as well.We were lucky to visit the museum during the bank holiday for free (and you can probably do it also on Sundays afternoons). If you decide to pay for the ticket check first if the Picasso permanent exhibition is reopened. You hato to store your baggage in the lockers (for free). Free wifi available. No restrictions to taking photos.

Tomáš R — Google review

From all the Picasso museums I have been (Barcelona, Paris and his house in Malaga) this was definitely the best. Great artwork in both the permanent and temporary exhibitions. If you like Picasso's artwork you must come to this museum and expect to stay there for about 2 hours.I reserved for the first time in the morning and it was worth it as I got the museum emptier than usual.Just be sure to buy your tickets a couple days in advance. I forgot to do it and the website was not working. Gladly I managed to buy tickets for the next day directly in the ticket office.

🇨🇦 review here. This was a must see for me but I only arrived in the last hour it was open. It’s not a bit exhibit so that was enough time. I was lucky that it wasn’t busy so there was lots of space between people but there is nowhere to sit so prepare to stand all the time. You can get very very close to the paintings which is nice. The audio guide on your phone (with wifi) is great. There is an amazing sculpture where you can see Picasso’s fingerprints!

Once in Malaga, you need to visit this Museum which covers the whole spectrum of creation of Pablo Picasso. Impressive setting and magnificent works of art. During high season period, you may encounter some waiting in line in order to enter. But you will be fully compensated by the remarkable feeling this place has to offer.

Maria D — Google review

“A picture lives only by one who looks at it” (Picasso 1881-1973). Every painting brings you to a sense of beauty and deep emotions and thoughts. Pablo Picasso is indeed one of the greatest modern artists of the century.

Ann R — Google review

Museum wasn’t fully opened. There was only one exposition. It was nice but I was there for 40 minutes. There was painting of another painters. For me was best to visit basem*nt. There was ruins of old Roman building. And entrance price you will get also audio guide for free, in English :). Enjoy your stay.

Dušan — Google review

A famous museum for the artist, Pablo Picasso, who was born in Malaga. The museum is well-kept and clean. However, it was extremely crowded with crowd control in almost every gallery. Exhibits are also a bit confusing in terms of linear order. Too many students are here being rowdy and just disrupting the space on a weekday. For the price (with audio guide), it is just a bit of a shame. The place is nice to visit but you won’t suffer if you miss it.

Nat G — Google review

A very nice museum, probably to best in Malaga. You can buy tickets online and queue for about 40 minutes or buy them at the entrance and go back to queue after 3pm.The museum has 2 main rooms, one per floor, both dedicated to Picasso himself. The last space is for temporary installations. All around a good experience, but it’s a crowded space with too many people per room.

Michelangelo M — Google review

A fascinating walk through Picasso's long life. You will find rooms you like more than others, but it shows the full depth and range of the artist. Allow an hour. And purchase tickets in advance (even same day), it will save you an hour+ wait in the queue.

Kara M — Google review

Gorgeous museum in an old palace. That said, most of the more popular paintings are held in other museums. This museum talks to you about Picasso’s story and legacy, with what feels like more artwork by others that were inspired by him than by the man himself. There is a curious area, “archeology”, where you get to see some ruins under the museum.Giving it 4 stars as there wasn’t as much Picasso as you’d expect from his museum.

Cristina G — Google review

One hears the Picasso name and instantly associates him with art. I can't say I fully know and appreciate his work, but it was until today's visit, that I was positive overall about some of his colourful abstract pieces. However, this visit to the Picasso Museum has made me decide that I DON'T actually like his works. I am sure he has his fans, but I find his pieces vulgar, aesthetically unpleasant, and uninteresting. Some of his art is not suitable for under 12s in my view. The museum venue itself is quite classy, but the outside queues are typically long. The rooms could be confusing for some people, and there seems to be a lack of a system to progress from one place to another in a logical manner. For me, the large crowds and queues are a case of the "Picasso brand" attracting the mainstream - but in the end, I found this visit a very damp squid experience and rather tasteless. It did nothing for me personally.

CD — Google review

Great museum! They have a lot of Picasso's art. You can spend at least 2 hours looking at them. I want to say more than 40 artworks plus other artists'. I recommend buying tickets in advance just in case. When I went it was pretty full.

Kidder D — Google review

Tip: Get there early as there is always a long queue. Can get quite busy inside which makes it hard to appreciate the work without feeling a little rushed. But beautiful building and outstanding art!

Picasso Museum in MalagaWhen you are in Malaga, you cannot miss visiting the Picasso Museum. You can understand and love Picasso, you can not accept his paintings and work in general, but the multifacetedness of Picasso's work is amazing. Work with paints and canvas, pencil and paper, clay, ceramic, metal, etc.The museum also has a special exhibition of the works of Picasso's followersWhen the building where the museum is located was restored, the remains of ancient buildings of the 7th-3rd centuries BC were found. You can see it on the basem*nt floorEntrance fee is 13 euros when you buy at the entrance and 12 euros when you buy online. The ticket includes an audio guide. The museum has a cafe and a couple of souvenir shops

Oleksandr P — Google review

Great place to spend time getting to know ancient history of the region. The museum has several floors. Each floor with a different exhibition. Mostly I enjoyed archeology. Though the third floor and terrace was close during my visit. I recommend the place for people seeking to know the history of the region better.

Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks

Church of the Incarnation in Malaga is a 16th-century baroque cathedral with ornate choir stalls and a museum. It's an iconic national landmark with beautiful architecture and a rich cultural atmosphere.

I've never seen a cathedral quite like this one before. It's wonderful. The architecture is beautiful, there's so much art and adornments everywhere. On a Tuesday, we queued for about 10-15 minutes, nothing too bad. The entrance is paid, but there are many reduced ticket options. The cathedral entrance fee for students is 4€ and if you want to go see the tower as well, that's 7€ in total. You can pay with a credit card there. I highly recommend bringing your phone and earphones, as you are provided with a QR code for an audio guide that you can listen to on your phone. It's worth it going around with the audio guide which shares a lot of interesting information about the cathedral. Absolutely worth a visit when in Málaga.

Kate?ina P — Google review

This is one of the most impressive cathedrals I have seen in Europe. The cost to get in was €8 for the main building and another €4 if you wanted to do the roof top walk. The size and opulence of this place is truly amazing. There is an audio guide for your phone you get as part of the entrance fee, so I would advise bringing headphones for your phone. While it can seem like all the churches and cathedrals blend into one another when traveling Europe, this one stands out due to the star size and beauty. The audio tour was well done and it will take you about 1.5 hours. All in all a great spot.

Dan S — Google review

Beautiful architecture but lackluster overall.Price - Too much for such a short experience, as you could experience most of it in a very short ammount of time.Atmosphere- Actually very nice atmosphere.Translation or other aid - Functional, but wish it was preprogrammed into automatically play as you go.Ended up not using it after only a few tries.Overall a beautiful location to visit, but be aware the price isn’t the best, and there are multiple other locations that offer more value for it’s price.

Gjøran E — Google review

We climbed to the top of the cathedral and its hard work to get up the very narrow stairs (just so people are aware) You get given a time slot in order to que for the climb up the cathedralGreat views when you get up there though. We also explored inside the cathedral at ground floor level and there was lots of art and architecture to enjoy as well as translated audios guides. There was a little gift shop there also as you leave

🇨🇦 review here. Happened by this Cathedral and there was no line so I went in not even knowing what it was. WOW what a place. They have an absolutely excellent audio guide for free (with wifi) on your phone. Great explanations. Lots of places to sit while listening. It wasn’t busy so there was lots of space when I was there on a Wednesday midday. I recommend it for the low entry fee.

Anne R — Google review

Does it make the top 10 list of cathedrals? Probably not. Is it worth paying the entrance fee? Probably if you combine it with the tower option which gives great views over the city. There's a free audio guide you can upload onto your phone with a QR code which also helps add some meaning. However from the outside it is an imposing structure and gives some great photo options both during the day and at night. There are a couple of restaurants and bars in the square facing the front which make a great spot to enjoy the view and a glass of wine in the evening.

Steven — Google review

Beautiful and impressive cathedral from in an outside. You should buy the ticket for inside (8€) and rooftop (4€), really worth to see both. The rooftop (200 stairs) has a beautiful view all over the city. Please inform yourself for the entry times of the rooftop, early afternoon its may not accessible because of the heat outside.Fabiola took us to the roof, she was really nice and exuded positive energy with her smile. Thank you very much Fabiola.

The Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga, more commonly known as Málaga Cathedral, is an awe-inspiring masterpiece that stands as a testament to the city's rich history and architectural heritage. My recent visit to this magnificent cathedral left me in utter admiration of its grandeur and spiritual significance.Upon approaching the cathedral, I was immediately struck by its imposing Renaissance and Baroque façade. The intricate stonework, delicate carvings, and towering twin bell towers create a sense of majesty that is simply breathtaking. The cathedral's exterior is a harmonious blend of architectural styles, reflecting the various periods of its construction, which began in the 16th century and continued for over two centuries.Stepping inside, I was greeted by a vast interior adorned with stunning works of art and religious artifacts. The light filtering through the stained-glass windows cast vibrant hues on the marble columns, adding to the cathedral's ethereal ambiance. The central nave's soaring vaulted ceiling was an engineering marvel of its time, and it exudes a sense of celestial splendor. One of the most striking features of Málaga Cathedral is its impressive choir stalls, intricately carved with biblical scenes and figures. These stalls are true masterpieces of craftsmanship, and they provide a glimpse into the artistic achievements of the past.Málaga Cathedral's rooftop tour offered a breathtaking panorama of the city and the Mediterranean Sea. The opportunity to get up close to the cathedral's unique architectural elements, including the ornate spire and weather vane, made the experience all the moreThe cathedral's grandeur, artistic treasures, and rich heritage make it a truly remarkable destination that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

This a very grand building, it's worth the visit just to observe the sheer size of it. The craftsmanship it a thing to behold and it has a layout quite different to many of the Cathedrals I've visited in the past.We arrived late in the day so there were no queues as such. We also didn't go to the roof but it's reccomend if you have the time and don't mind heights.Over all very impressive!

My visit to Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga was nothing short of spectacular. The moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the grandeur and beauty of this historical marvel. The intricate architecture, stunning stained glass windows, and ornate decorations left me in awe.The atmosphere inside the cathedral is serene and peaceful, allowing for a truly spiritual experience. The knowledgeable guides provided fascinating insights into the cathedral's rich history and significance, enhancing my appreciation for this architectural masterpiece.Exploring the chapels and admiring the artwork was a delightful journey through time and culture. The attention to detail in every corner of the cathedral is truly impressive, showcasing the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans who contributed to its creation.I was also impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff, who were more than willing to answer questions and share their passion for the cathedral. Whether you're a history enthusiast, art lover, or simply seeking a moment of tranquility, a visit to Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga is a must. It's an enriching experience that I will cherish, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Málaga.

Taken me a few months to get around to posting. But if you are visiting Málaga soon you should definitely make a stop to Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga. The photos don't really do justice to just how vast the space is, and how decadent it is. It was lovely to visit such an amazing piece of history.

Beautiful view from the roof about entire Malaga could even be more beautiful then the Cathedral inside. It's a lot of stairs bro get up but the view is stunning. We did the last tour of the day and it gives a nice play of sunset colours as well.

The inside is as impressive as the outside. Definitely worth it. Be sure to buy a ticket that includes access to the tower! The views are great. The personnel speaks English very well so communication shouldn't be a problem.P.S. Whoever tells you there are 200 steps to the rooftop is lying. There are 183 😂

Beautiful Cathedral. We stayed for mass to get the full experience. The church closes when mass is in progress. One of the exterior characteristics is that one of the bell towers was never completed. You can see the unfinished tower in pictures. The interior is gorgeous and cavernous. Worth the time.

The main sight in Malaga. An impressive and beautiful cathedral, inside and out. As it took over 250 years to build (from 1528 to 1782), you'll see a mix of different architectural styles, mostly Renaissance and Baroque. Construction slowed down because funds were rerouted to support the US war of Independence. To this day, the second tower remains unbuilt, which gave the church the nickname "The One-armed Lady". Two impressive organs. Entry for adults is €8, which contributes towards restoration. Waiting time was 5-10min. Free audio guide. Wheelchair and stroller accessible. Optionally, you can also buy tickets to visit the rooftop.to get great views of the city.

Lovely inside but worth the €8 to get inside? Absolutely not. I’ve seen far more ornate cathedrals in Spain and elsewhere (Toledo as one example), for free. It’s also quite small inside despite the huge exterior. I’m glad I came for the free visit at 8:30am-9am (everyday M-Sat) and was there no more than a half hour myself. A few other people also joined my stroll around inside. It’s also quite dim that early in the morning, so many of the finer internal features are obscure. Might be lighter later in the day…

Its magnificent facade, adorned with intricate carvings and towering spires, commands attention from afar. Stepping inside, visitors are greeted with a grand interior, where majestic columns and soaring ceilings create a sense of reverence and wonder. Just do it. It’s a magnificent building with well written audio guide. Roof tours start every hour and also a nice thing to do. If you are not fit, stay last in the group when climbing stairs to the roof. This ways you’ll not stall people behind you.

10€ for a Cathedral. Was it impressive as the ceiling is very high? Yes. Does that makes it worth it? No. I personally would say, try to go during free hours before the mass or skip it, you aint missing much really.

Theodora A — Google review

Spectacular cathedral with the option to walk on the roof too, which is a must do if you are able to walk the 200 steps to the top. You spend about 30 minutes up there with 360 degree views as you walk around the whole roof.

Beautiful cathedral! It's 8 euros but worth it. It comes with an audio guide. Local people have discounts without it somehow. It was raining so I didn't do the roof (cubiertos) tour.My visit was on normal Monday afternoon with rain.... no reservation but only a couple of minutes wait to go inside. Recommend.

Beautiful cathedral. Perfectly situated and easy to get to as it is just down the street from the main square and from the opposite direction. Pretty much straight across the road from the port.

The visit exceeded our expectations. The cathedral is huge and beautiful inside. We also paid for the walk on the roof (at 13:00) and it was worth it. You can see the catedral first and come for the roof top walk later. It starts outside in the garden. Toilet available in the cathedral next to the exit.
