If that quick little questionnaire Swagglehaus did, with a small population count is even remotely accurate, 30% never going back is not insignificant. Maybe reality is 10%? 5% never going back. I don’t know. But every piece of incompetence and frustration and anger that those jackasses in charge in Sarasota continue with I feel does take a few more percentage points away. And there’s been alot of that goin on, particularly since Covid and that big hiring. Something to continue watching IMO.

They eliminated subgrades, and no longer provide the “Perfect 10” grade. Instead, they have a “Pristine 10” grade, which is the same as the old Pristine 10 grade, just with no subgrades as an option. They also switched all Gem Mint 9.5s into Gem Mint 10s. So a CGC blue label 9.5 is equivalent to a CGC black label 10.

While grades of CGC 9.9 (Mint) and CGC 10 (Gem Mint) are possible, they are rare. A CGC 9.8 (Near Mint/Mint) is a nearly perfect collectible with negligible handling or manufacturing defects, and it's about the best grade you can typically expect to get on a book.

Is CGC or PSA stricter? ›

As others have mentioned, BGS & CGC are stricter than PSA for centering. An interesting note is that while CGC is strict, their lowest centering grade is an 8. Anything below that is marked as OC (off centered) which is calculated as 8.5 in the formula to decide the grade.

If you selected pressing and grading then you would be charged for the pressing first once the order is logged in and verified and the invoice starts the pressing process. You won't be charged for grading until the order moves from CCS to CGC which can take quite some time depending on the tier you selected.
