Fallout: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2024)

93% Tomatometer 121 Reviews 90% Audience Score 2,500+ Ratings Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them. Fallout: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Nina Metz Chicago Tribune Fallout reveals itself to be a show with some potent things to say about where we’re headed if we allow corporate interests to dictate the future. Rated: 3/4 Apr 24, 2024 Full Review Fallout: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Goofy when it’s bloody, glinting when it’s conspiratorial, and always looking for another way to surprise you, Fallout has a counterintuitive rhythm: there’s too much going on, but it feels right. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 18, 2024 Full Review Fallout: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Gene Park Washington Post The best part about the world of the Fallout games, and now this show, is that it’s among the most relatable science fiction wastelands. Apr 17, 2024 Full Review Fallout: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Mikel Zorrilla Espinof The best sci-fi series so far this year and far surpasses '3 Body Problem' (Full review in Spanish) Rated: 8/10 Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Fallout: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Shah Shahid The Movie Blog While Fallout is definitely an adult series, with lots of blood, gore, violence and just gruesome acts of terrible-ness, it’s also crazy light-hearted. The humour is unmatched, and doesn’t stand apart, but rather, compliments the darker elements. Jun 14, 2024 Full Review Fallout: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Nestor Bentancor Nestor Cine Desde Hollywood It deserves a towering thumb up for being much more than just "okey-dokey." Vic C Struggled through episode 1 and found this to lack any "grab" and simply went nowhere Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/28/24 Full Review Darren H Absolutely fantastic! Both an incredible depiction of the games and their lore, and a fantastic, gripping story in it's own right. The quality of the production has blown me away. The dark humour, tone, atmosphere - indeed everything about the games .. The layout and look of the vaults, the weapons, pip-boys, wasteland creatures and so on .... I simply cannot get over how good this is and how much I enjoyed it.... I'm just praying it gets many more series! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/24 Full Review Ogg A Really, really, really good. Tells the classic Fallout story while adding some interesting characters. It doesn't take itself too seriously which is also fantastic. Balances fan service with high quality original story telling without breaking lore. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/24 Full Review Audience Member First, I'm going to say I did not have high hopes when I first heard that Amazon was taking this on. After how they completely jacked-up Tolkien's work in Rings of Power, I was really upset they would destroy my favorite video game. That said, they did an awesome job with Fallout. I've played every Fallout game since Fallout 3 and am still playing Fallout 4. There are small deviations from the canon storyline, but I forgive them all that. They captured the mood, the subtle aspects of game play, wrote a really good story, and engaging characters. This show gave me new hope that there are people at Amazon that actually like the source material they are working with and want to make a good show. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/24 Full Review Jacob J Not the best ever in this genre but given its a game adaption this is surprisingly good. Look forward to series two so that means it's onto something. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/26/24 Full Review Derrick J Nuka Cola caps were well spent on one of the few well executed video game to TV adaptations ever! Fallout stays true to the essence of the source material without be hand cuffed to cannon. The writers deftly chose when to follow the established video game narrative and when strike out on their own in the true RPG gamer spirit. Walton Goggins as the 200 year old "Ghoul" has been a particular delight; with his nuanced a portrait of man turned monster. Ghoul is searching for and trying to maintain the traces of his humanity not destroyed by the Fallout, while ironically performing the most inhuman and cynical acts. The portrait of Ghoul, is darkly comical, infuriating, heroic, romantic, and I dare say empathetic. Walton's performance is a subversive schizophrenic analog to the mind bending collective conscious of the Fallout world. My favorite part about Fallout experience video game or TV series is that Fallout presents the moral problem and then allows you to choose your own adventure.
