A while back, I hosted a contest in search of the best Crockpot recipes! I asked you, my readers, and got 5 delicious recipes – the crockpot cheesecake is amazing! You can find all the recipeshere.With all the holiday parties and events planned over the next couple of weeks, I decided to ask for your favorite holiday recipes! I asked over my facebook page, and there were so many tasty treats! It was hard to choose but I picked five that I’m sharing with you today.
Monster Bars
from Nikki Morris
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
- 1 package (14.4 oz) of graham crackers, crushed
- 1 bag (11.5 oz) chocolate chips
- 1 bag (11.5 oz) butterscotch or peanut butter chips (or both!)
- 1/2a bag (7 oz) of coconut flakes
- 1 bag (16 oz)walnuts
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
Pour the melted butter into a baking dish and add the crushed graham crackers. Then layer the chips, coconut, and walnuts.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top, and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let cool and cut into bars.
I loved these! They were absolutely delicious and SO easy to make! You can also make your own gluten-free graham crackersto make this tasty treat gluten-free. :-) I didn’t have a chance to make the rest of these recipes before writing this post but I’m hoping to soon!
Lemon Bread

- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Rind of 1 lemon
Mix all the ingredients in order, and pour the batter into a greased and floured baking dish. Bake for 1 hour at 300 degrees. Let cool while you prepare the glaze:
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup of sugar
Whisk the two ingredients together, and pour over the cake.Yum! I love all lemon desserts, and thisone sounds amazing! :-)
Apple Fritter Cake

Filling:
- 4 Braeburn apples, diced
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons water
Combine the above ingredientsin a saucepan and cook on low for 5-7 minutes, or until apples soften and the sauce is thick.
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Combine these two ingredients and set aside.
Cake:
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add applesauce and vanilla. Mix in the eggs, one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together, and add the mixture in thirds, alternating with the yogurt. Be sure to mix well after each addition!

Spread 1/2 the batter into a 9×13 baking dish. Sprinkle most of the brown sugar and cinnamon, and top with apple filling. Spread the remaining batter over the top, and the sprinkle the rest of the brown sugar mixture. Bake for 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees and top immediately with the glaze.
Glaze:
- 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 6 Tablespoons Milk
Combine ingredients until smooth. This recipe requires quite a bit of work, but itwould be so worth it! I love anything with an apple filling. :-)

Peanut Butter Blossoms

- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- Hershey’s Kisses
Mix the ingredients and roll into 1 inch balls. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and push a chocolate kiss in the center of each ball. Let cool.
