Shadhin Lab LLC 𝐈𝐟𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲!A natural question arises: 𝐖𝐑𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐰𝐑𝐞𝐧 π‘πšπ¦πšππšπ§ 𝐒𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫?π“π‘πž 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐬 𝐬𝐒𝐦𝐩π₯𝐞: Yes, Ramadan is over, and that's precisely why we have time to party! During Ramadan, the focus is on prayer and supplication for everyone, not on parties or gossiping, or any other distractions. It's like being in a gold treasure trove where one should focus solely on prayer, donations, and seeking forgiveness for all.Holding an Iftar party during Ramadan poses several challenges, as it can interfere with important prayer-related activities before and after the event. In my opinion, we should not waste time on parties during Ramadan. We are hosting the Iftar party on one of the Shawwal days following Ramadan! All members who came to the office today were fasting, and we had a blast during Iftar without having to worry about Tarawih, Suhoor, wasting time in traffic, or sacrificing the Asr prayer to attend the party :)Alhamdulillah.I would advise all organisations to refrain from hosting parties during the month of Ramadan, and instead focus on donations and prayers. Lets just not follow the trend but make meaningful decisions !We can always have our celebrations during the month of Shawwal, when observing the six additional days of fasting is also very important.#iftarparty #shadhinlab #againstthetide #ramadan

Do you value education?Do you need a car?Do you want to make a difference in a young woman's life?If you answered yes to the above we can help. The Alliance of Women Executives (AWE) is participating in The Honda Classic Birdies for Children. Simply put,Birdies for Children is a fundraising event that helps nonprofits raise money through a contest with a grand prize winner receiving a BRAND NEW 2023 Honda! The Honda Classic collects all donations and writes checks back to the charities for 100% of the money plus the 5% matching bonus. What is a birdie? A birdie is a score of one stroke better than par for any golf hole. Par is the average expected score for any given hole (typically 3, 4, or 5). PGA pros are expected to make anywhere between 1,000 - 1,500 birdies during The Honda Classic. ( you know I had to look this up:)We have set our goal at $15,000 and invite you to participate, the link to our page is https://lnkd.in/dHu9MB6r

Reposting Chris Nicholson's newsletter I received today from Musicians without Borders. For those able to support this critical project, thank you.https://lnkd.in/dukSQjgMChris Nicholson, Program Manager, East Africa writes:We as a team, found a wayIn 2021, faced with an increasingly urgent and violent situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, our team in Rwanda Youth Music came to us with an idea for a new project, to help the people of DR Congo and provide support. This country isone of the world’s most neglected displacement crisesand the need for humanitarian intervention is getting worse:This year, levels of violence and insecurity in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, have continued to increase.Over one million people have been displaceddue to a dramatic resurgence of attacks by armed groups. As a result,Goma was already hosting more than half a million displaced people in and around the city, in overcrowded refugee areas. In this context, young people are particularly vulnerable. Children and youth are abducted into armed forces, and others, with a lack of positive options, join willingly. Hundreds of thousands of children are displaced by conflict, away from schools, friends and often their families. This is occurring daily, right now. This situation should not be happening. Nor should the tragedy these children are facing be ignored by the rest of the world. So our local team took action this year.Building on the expertise of everyone in our East Africa team, we designed a new program tailored to the needs of Congolese and Rwandan youth:Kivu Youth Music. Our Rwandan music trainers used their skills to train a new cohort of music leaders in DRCongo, specializing in nonviolent approaches to building communities through music-making. In particular, the Congo team will use cross-border approaches to provide creative and constructive alternatives for young people who live in the midst of violence in both countries. I am continually impressed by the skills of these young music trainers. They can walk into the hardest conditions and bring joy, fun, and connection. Our trainers often work in refugee camps with minimal resources - a few instruments and their own creativity - and make music with hundreds of children! To date, the Kivu Youth Music team has reached over 4,500 children directly affected by conflict. In 2024 we aim to do even more: new partnerships with IUCN NL will address the violent connections between land ownership, access to resources, and climate change in the region. We will work with young people to foster cultural connections to nature, and develop environmental leadership. The need for peaceful intervention in DRCongo is urgent and immediate. With support we can provide peaceful alternatives.Your support will help us expand on this work, countering violence and injustice in Central East Africa.

Did you know that whenever there's a major global event such as the horrifying situations in the Ukraine and Gaza, donations to small charities fall off a cliff. When we see innocent children hurt by senseless war and violence, we all want to do what we can to help ease their pain and suffering. The frustrating thing for small charities like the Musical Youth Foundation (CHY#18624) is that the vulnerable children it is our mission to help have not gone away, their nightmare situations persist and often worsen as donations and grant funding get diverted to the more desperate looking situations plastered all over our social networks and across media channels. My dream is to help all children everywhere by giving them access to music lessons and instruments. Music education is proven to result in better outcomes and ultimately save the taxpayer millions by keeping children engaged in the education system.Without your backing, it is just one man’s crazy dream. With your help, thousands of children in Ireland and beyond will benefit from the power of music. Let us create a wave of goodwill and positivity by filling this world with love and music. Just €20. from you once a year can make all the difference.Donate now via https://lnkd.in/dt7CHCaX and together we can change the world a little bit for the better.#musiceducationmatters #musicforpeace #musicchangeslives #guitarsforkids #childrenscharity #donateforchange #makeadifference #makeanimpact

If you heard of the wildfire in Maui and want to help the survivors, here's how:1. Do not go to Maui for vacation (or to Hawaii for that matter). They need every hotel room possible to house the people who lost their homes. Some are flying to other islands like Oahu, so they need spare airline seats as well. Hawaii is in the middle of the ocean. Yes we're part of the US, but we have limited resources. Maui can't handle tourists taking up precious resources that the wildfire survivors desperately need right now. 2. Donate to local organizations. One silver lining is seeing how quickly the community came together. Here in Oahu, locals are donating supplies, food, and water, while businesses are collecting them to ship them over to Maui.If you live in Hawaii, I heard yesterday that they urgently need more water and non-perishable food so prioritize those over other supplies. Contact your local food bank, Red Cross, or favorite small businesses to see if they're a drop off zone for donations. If you don't live in Hawaii and can't donate non-perishable goods, then monetary donations are the next best thing. Here's a link to a reliable source (I recommend the first three on the list). https://lnkd.in/e7HQE4F7If you have any questions, drop them in the comments or DM me. Side note: I'm safe. I live on Oahu. Thank you to those who checked in on me.#maui

We deliver to our local food bank.. Every Wednesday just before the shop closes, we go to the bakery section and take all of the leftover baked items to our local food bank for those who need it the most.I think the initiative that they have started here, where we can take the food for free and drop it off at the designated food bank locations, is a great way to look after those people in the community who are vulnerable and are struggling to make ends meet.As citizens, living here in the UK, I feel we have responsibility to take care of all of those around us in which ever way shape or form that may be.Whether you’re visiting your local care home, checking in with your neighbours, volunteering in your local community or even dropping off food you may have made those who you think maybe in need of it, are all ways we can help fulfil our rights to those around us. With it being the month of Ramadan, it is incumbent upon us to give charity and lead by example, when it comes to serving those around us. People always feel guilty when they are not able to fast during this blessed month, and whenever they ask me what they can do to offset this guilt. I always tell them that you can attain righteousness in other way, even if you are not able to fast due to the reasons stated to us by God Almightly. You can spend more time in the worship of Allah, give charity, focus more on reading the holy Quran, and other way that you know pleases Him. Muslims, who truly understand the teachings of Islam, always strive to help those around them, regardless of the colour, creed or faith. Do what you can to make a difference in the area in which you live in, and let’s work together to make the world a better place. 🀲🏽#charity #foodbank #uk #london #costoflivingcrisis

Friends, colleagues, and connections outside Brazil,I'm not sure if you're aware, but an entire state in Brazil is currently underwater. No exaggeration. The whole country is mobilizing with donations for Rio Grande do Sul. It's heartbreaking - thousands of people have lost their homes, documents, and history, and have been separated from their families. Families of people we know. Families like yours, like ours. It's an unprecedented tragedy - and possibly the first of many (hasn't anyone noticed that we're already in the midst of a terrible climate crisis?).Our hearts are with Rio Grande do Sul. * How you can help *While the donations are mostly via Brazilian digital payment system, there are trustworthy organizations that are receiving international donations (I'll edit this post as I am aware of them).* NGO Instituto E se fosse vocΓͺ? accepts donations via PayPal https://lnkd.in/dbHFq5GXhttps://lnkd.in/deuTfpdm* CUFA - Central Única de Favelas accepts donations via PayPal: doacoespaypal@cufa.org.br* This fundraising event in Davis (CA) (thank you SO much dear Megan Lynch, for providing the alt text for the flyer)#RioGrandeDoSul #Floods #ClimateCrisis #Solidarity
